Booking Ideas THE DICE GAME (As shared at the Des Moines, IA Regional Rally) This booking activity is a form of play or pass. Let everyone know they can choose to play or not. If they roll 2-5 they get a prize (jewelry cleaner, scarf, etc.) The secret is to Sell the Sizzle as Elizabeth Draper would say. Show them what is in the prize basket... go through it and tell them why they need the jewelry cleaner or whatever you find that is affordable. If they roll 6-11, they have to commit to hosting a show and getting free jewelry. If they roll a 12, then they get the grand prize of a petite tennis bracelet. Following are some testimonials from jewelers who are loving it! I am just loving this game. It is really working. I played it at my new jeweler s show, and she got 5 bookings. It is so great! I modified it a littler. Roll 2-6: gift from basket. Roll 7-12 committed to having a show and a grand prize winner! (Whatever I offer that night.) Tammy I do the dice game the way Tammy does hers. Two baskets. One with dollar store gifts and a ring tray full of toe rings. A roll of 2-6 lets them pick from this basket. A roll of 7-12 and I tell them they win three prizes. #1 is me at their home. #2 is free jewelry from their show and #3 is they get to pick a prize from my second basket which is full of retired pieces. If you don t have retired pieces, you can put anklets on a bar and tell them you will give them any anklet of their choice the night of their show. I do not do a grand prize for rolling a 12. Too much to think about and I think all the prizes are grand! 12 people at my last show... 9 bookings! 6 people at the show before that... 4 bookings! And that is only because a few people rolled the low numbers!! Even a couple of people that rolled low numbers booked anyway because they were having so much fun!! This really does work!!! Colyn Another twist... One jeweler called it DICE or NO DICE!!! She says roll 2-5 and win a prize, roll 6-12 and you are the REALLY BIG WINNER win a prize AND you get the FREE JEWELRY at your show!

FALL 2006 FASHION TRENDS Great fashion and accessorizing tips by Marie Johnson, Rally 2006 Overview According to Marie, neutrals are in! They will allow the focus to be taken away from the Clothes themselves and instead be on great jewelry! One of the big looks that we will continue to see this fall: - long multi-layered chains and beaded necklaces even long enough to stick out the bottom of the jacket. Palazzo, Kaleidoscope p 109, sienna p92, Colette - Y shaped long necklaces (bronzed beauty neck and bracelet) p - Stacked bracelets (with charms) Desert Sun with bronzed beauty or necklace as bracelet, golden girl bracelet with Regal cross pendant p 51 In addition to neutrals (toned down color) we will notice clothes being less opulent less sparkle and spangle in clothes. Again, allowing more focus on jewelry! We will still see prints and patterns but they will be toned down and subtle. Overall from Fiesta to chic/sophisticated! Hot colors: Camel/brown (Brown is the new black) Black (textures) Black and white/checks/plaids Gray Winter white with silver gray Pop: purple, red, peacock, pumpkin, green Trends: Military maneuvers (military, camouflage, animal prints) Russian Rolette (greens and browns) Victorian/gothic (frilly blouses, lace!) British country (plaid) Details Lace : on shoes, handbags, everything-victorian, soft look Velvet Belts (high and tight at waist, worn to side) Fur Gloves Charms Silhouettes: Palazzo pants various crop lengths Crop pants Leggings /Stirrup pants Catsuits Accent on the waist with cinched belts Sweaters/sweater coats Wrap dresses Pants coming higher on waist More trends Layering still in with a short jacket Oversized bags with grommets Lots of stacked bracelets Long necklaces Big 80 s influence-hair getting big again Cowl necks It is all about YOU, the wonderful YOU, Jewelry and the women. Marie quote, "it is your obligation to get as many necklaces out there-you need to string them together. Who are you talking to here -----me, me, me, Jewelry was in the buffet but not the focus, now it is all about the jewelry and women. Clothes are going simple focus on lots of great jewelry and shoes to create different looks. Always remember to shop with an honest friend and keep in mind that just because you can, doesn t mean you should.
The Trends for Fall: Suits, Trench Coats, Military-Inspired, and Victorian THE COLORS: NEUTRALS: Camel, Gray, Black, Brown, Winter White POP COLORS: Forest Green, Plum, Peacock, Burgundy, Red, Pumpkin The Fit: Belted at the Natural Waist, Floaty Below
From chunky knit sweaters worn with delicate dresses to fine-gauge sweater knit skirt suits, woven fabrics (like denim or twill) made way for sweater knits. Some of the most interesting looks came in the form of draped and oversized knits; almost all were in go-with-everthing neutrals like ivory, gray and black. IT S ALL ABOUT TEXTURE Nubby, Silky, Suede, Mix n Match Black tights paired with everything from slit-to-there evening gowns in bright prints to floaty dresses. It's a youthful look (and so much easier to carry off than either bare legs or patterned hose). Leggings worn under skirts and dresses are a cute way to add a funky touch; slim leggings in place of pants with a jacket are a sexy new look to try for fall. Menswear prints -- houndstooth, plaids, checks, pinstripes -- are perennial faves for fall fashion. But this season designers went free-form with oversized patterns, and even mixed prints. In real life, you may want to skip the mixy-matchy look and concentrate on wearing one bold menswear pattern Fall will also be the time to experiment with soft pieces like the draped skirt in menswear patterns, as opposed to the tailored pieces it often comes in (i.e. pinstripe pantsuits for women). (even in small doses like a hat or scarf it makes a statement). The school-girl vibe is strong, and long shorts and knickers bring a new silhouette to fall bottoms. Paired with a matching jacket, shorts (with tights) offer a polished, professional look. While long shorts are flattering on most women (especially when paired with a monochromatic jacket and tights), knickers are best on the young and trendy.
From classic wrap dresses to work in to ethereal dresses to party in, designers showed plenty of dresses for fall. Newness came in the form of a relaxed silhouette (many fell loose from the shoulder). When it was restrained it was belted at the waist. Devotees of the dress love the ease of one-piece dressing; women everywhere know that the little black dress -- which almost every designer showed in their collection -- is a must in the wardrobe because it will take you anywhere. What's a suit, anyway? In the hands of designers during Fashion Week, it might be as unconventional as long shorts and a jacket. Or as traditional as a skirt and blazer. The focus now is on a matched set: the jacket still fitted -- belted or with a peplum -- and paired with a slim skirt or pants. Some critics have complained that the colorscape for Fall was murky -- black, gray, loden, clay -- but there were spots of very wearable red. The serious, dark color story is a nice change of direction after seasons of frou (pink, turquoise, bright metallics). It's a more grown-up approach to fashion and signals a turn to sexier, more powerful look on the horizon. ACCESSORIZING: Put it all Together Boots continue to be the best match for dresses and skirts; some designers like Anna Sui and Carolina Herrera even added matching print boots to dresses (very cool). Bags are still big and luxe and gloves add an elegant (if impractical) finishing touch. Chains, big & bold, and black & gold. Those are a few of the fall trends on the horizon, now starting to appear in our favorite online stores. Another feminine touch is fabric rosettes and oversized flowers that adorned jackets and dresses. If there was one look that almost every designer showed, it was the wide belt -- usually in black -- at the waist of everything from coats to suits to dresses. The great thing about this look is that all you need to do to update, say, a suit is to add a black belt to the waist.
