4 Hello: My full name is Caitlin Johns Thornton; I am a 22 year old Zimbabwean. I am an International student and English is my first and only language. I am an incredibly ambitious, hard working individual- with a positive can-do attitude. I am a young and vibrant person well known for the flare, passion and enthusiasm I throw into every task I undertake. Having lived in two vastly different countries, I have learnt to be adaptable and I can easily appreciate different cultures and tastes, and I have found because of my abstract life experiences, I easily relate to most people and enjoy the unique experience each meeting brings. Honest, organized, reliable, and responsible are just a few of the terms by which my family and peers have referred to me as. However, the serious stance it takes towards my work is just one facet of my character. Complementing my serious workaholic side is a fun, bubbly and quirky person who is obsessed with collecting pigs in any shape or form. In my younger years I attended Chisipite Senior School in Harare, Zimbabwe, where I wrote my Cambridge A, and O Levels. In addition to these, I later attained Cambridge International Diploma s in, Business, Website Design, Website Authoring and Desktop Publishing. I then travelled to Perth and attended, Curtin International College where I completed a Diploma of Design and was awarded Top Design Student. I have currently just completed a Bachelor of Arts (Design) at Curtin University, in Perth, where I majored in Illustration. From an early age I knew I was destined to be an artist/designer. Art and design has played a huge part in my life, and it is the whimsical and intricate road I have chosen to follow. Children s books have always inspired and influenced me, their colours, characters and storylines consistently fascinate me. Owing to my natural inquisitiveness, I soon discovered not only did I appreciate the work of others, but that writing and illustrating my own Children s books was a thrilling and indescribable experience.
