4 Ball of a Time It r» i I \, «Much like most of our previous Tatler Balls, the steady trickle of guests would often head to the photo wall prior to entering the ballroom. But this year was a little different there wasn't just a single wall, there were three! And there wasn't a single guest who didn't appreciate the additional photo opportunities as well as the mesmerising light bulb photo room courtesy of Samsung. A little bird told us that there were requests to extend the photo walls next year too. As the trickle turned to a torrent and guests began to surge against the holds of the foyer, it was time to throw open the doors and welcome them to the magical spectacle that was the Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur grand ballroom, which was bedecked to the nines, thanks to Razak Luxe Decor. Trees of glassine leaves and deep red blooms adorned the length and breadth of the place, accentuated even further by the multicoloured strobe lights. It was hard to miss the sounds of admiration and wonder from the crowd upon stepping into the lush, elegant confines. The excitement was palpable as guests roved from one table to another to greet old friends and make new connections. But barely a few minutes in and there was a flurry of flashing jewellery and voluminous gowns as everyone hurried back to their seats for the curtain to rise on the 29th Tatler Ball. An exquisite multi-course dinner awaited the excited guests, but that wasn't the extent of Tatler hospitality. Musical entertainment for the evening included Datuk Syafinaz Selamat and the Mad Sally band. Despite the seat switcheroos that went on throughout the night, there was a pregnant pause as all eyes were on the stage for the main highlight the awards ceremony. Some tears of joy and touching sentiments were felt as the heartfelt acceptance speeches of the award winners, Michele Kwok with Fred Choo, Datin Dian Lee, Dzameer Dzulkifli, Azran Osman Rani as well as Dato' Simon Foong, filled the air. But all was soon smiles again, as the party moved out to the foyer where guests proceeded to dance the night away. J 55» 7M
