Sandpoint & Sagle Jola (Yola) Bitler Oluf Nielsen Kim Powers Barbara Field Don Fisher Connie Scherr Pauline Ehly Larry Clark Lucy West Karen Trueblood Rob Payne 1 Jola (Yola) Bitler Painting jolbgmj789@frontier.com Art by Yola 917 Westmond Rd, Sagle My artwork is an interpretation of my surroundings, ideas, and beliefs. The subject matter of each painting determines which form of media I use. North Idaho provides me with peace and tranquil arena to paint and express myself using different approaches. Each project often consists of multiple works, grouped around specific themes and meanings. Artists Studio Tour
Sandpoint & Sagle 2 Oluf Nielsen Oils olufnielsen@msn.com Oluf Nielsen Studio 15 Platinum Ridge Rd, Sagle A creative mind, blank canvas and paint is all Oluf needs and maybe a shot of whisky! With textural abstract oils, Oluf has been a major player in the top art festivals coast to coast. For 40 years he received first place awards while selling to collectors in 35 cities. His wide range of styles each have a unique look. 3 Kim Powers Mixed media kimpowers12@me.com 6095 Dufort Rd, Sagle As I look out my Studio window in our 70-year-old barn, I am thankful for the textures and colors surrounding me. They continually inspire me to pick up my brush and paint. I am drawn to the structures and shapes that open my mind to the beauty of my surroundings. This beauty is part of my consciousness when I create my fabric work. I invite you to my gallery to share in my experience. 8 Artists Studio Tour 2018 Artists Studio Tour
Sandpoint & Sagle 4 Barbara Field Mixed media barbf253@aol.com perceptions-in-art.com Perception Studio 375 W. Garfield Bay Rd, Sagle To create a painting is to inch backward and forward along a series of planks, cantilevering onto a palette of color, rhythmic lines and shapes; all traveling from darkness to radiant light. The northwest is my focus: its turbulent streams, mysterious reflections, sleeping boats, snow shadows, backlit hills and many diverse inhabitants contributing to a special environment. 5 Don Fisher Photography doncindyfisher@gmail.com Odie s Bayside 1591 Garfield Bay Rd. Sagle My philosophy as a fine art photographer is really quite simple: I try to spot scenes of nature that are not immediately noticed by everyone s eye. The lighting has to be just right for the composition to be its best. I then work primarily with Lightroom to bring out the colors, texture and saturation of the subject. 10 Artists Studio Tour 2018 Artists Studio Tour
Sandpoint & Sagle 6 Connie Scherr Oils les-connie@hotmail.com conniescherr.com Scherr Haven 333 Birch Haven, Sagle The lush Clark Fork Delta. Lake Pend Oreille. The tree-covered mountains. Beautiful farms with hay bales. Summertime at City Beach. We have it all here in North Idaho and I have been blessed to call Sandpoint home for over 40 years. Please come by my studio and see what has inspired my paintings this past year. Call for an appointment before or after the tour, Pauline Ehly Jewelry / Felting / Eco Printing mpaulineehly@gmail.com Scherr Haven 333 Birch Haven, Sagle Many art forms spark my interest but in particular nuno felting and jewelry designing. The last two years, I have been exploring the joy of eco-dyeing which is a process contact printing with plants on silk, wool & linen, producing marvelous scarves and other wearables. My work is available in various boutiques, special events and I am a regular vendor at Sandpoint farmer s market. 12 Artists Studio Tour 2018 Artists Studio Tour
Sandpoint & Sagle 7 Lucy West Acrylics lucyweststudios@gmail.com lucyweststudios.com Lucy West Studios 639 Cliffs Above Contest Point Lane, Sagle Painting with acrylics on canvas, my ambition is to create fine art infused with the elegant science that makes up the phenomenal mechanics of our world and universe. My wish is to inspire others to look up at the night sky or look deeper into the inner workings of nature, and through the creative process explore how and why. 6 Larry Clark Pottery clark487@frontier.com Scherr Haven 333 Birch Haven, Sagle I ve been fortunate to be able to work with clay for most of my life. From the very beginning I ve approached ceramics as both a sculptor and a painter, exploring the possible shapes for both functional and non-functional shapes, and feeling compelled in many cases to decorate the surfaces in a painterly way, most often with flower associated images. 14 Artists Studio Tour 2018 Artists Studio Tour
Sandpoint & Sagle 8 Karen Trueblood Painting ktruebloodart@gmail.com Art Place, 120 S. 2nd Ave Suite C, Sandpoint As an artist and passionate art teacher for over 25 years, I believe teaching strengthens my art; students push me to greater understanding and creative expression every day. There is inspiration in everything. I find that a variety of subjects, style, material, and techniques keeps my art alive and vibrant. I am excited to be painting and teaching at my new studio ART PLACE, in Sandpoint. 9 Rob Payne Wood robb.pay@gmail.com Rob Payne Wood Art 204 S. Florence, Sandpoint For decades I ve enjoyed creating functional art from my treasury of unique wood. I rescue wood from demolition projects, local Sandpoint trees headed for the landfill, exotic species, driftwood, and more. I use these to create functional art: furniture, doors, cabinets, guitars my imagination s the limit. Each finished piece comes with a story, and its personality shows in every line. 16 Artists Studio Tour 2018 Artists Studio Tour
