2 GENERAL RULES 1. The Management of the Martin County Fair & Youth Livestock Show reserves the right to construe, amend, add to, and interpret the rules and regulations, and to arbitrarily settle and to determine all matters and differences in regard thereto including amendments, or otherwise arising out of, connected with, or any incident pertaining to the Martin County Fair & Youth Livestock Show. Complaints are to be made, in writing, within 30 days of the last day of the Martin County Fair & Youth Livestock Show to the Executive Director, Martin County Fair Association, Inc. 2. Exhibitors DO NOT have to be residents of Martin County. Exhibitor s age is as of Opening Day of Fair year. 3. Entries per person are limited to up to 3 per Series, and 10 overall exhibits. 4. Premium Book and official entry forms are available online at: A copy of the Premium Book may be obtained at the Fair office. Use Official Entry Form (page 3), Baked Goods Form (page 16), Photography Form (page 23). 5. All exhibits entered for competition shall be subject to the control of the Superintendent of the division which they are exhibited and the Martin County Fair Association. Exhibitors are not permitted to remove, handle, rearrange, improve or disfigure the same under any circumstances. No exhibit shall be removed in whole or part during the period of the Fair except by permission of the Fair Management. 6. Removal of Exhibits: Entry exhibits not picked up on the Removal Day will become the property of the Fair Association. The Fair cannot store any exhibits and therefore, the Fair Association assumes no responsibility in case of loss or damage to exhibits not removed on the Removal Day. 7. The Fair Management reserves the right to refuse any entry deemed unsuitable as a Martin County Fair & Youth Livestock Show exhibit. 8. Decision of judges is final. Exhibitors, parents and general public are not allowed in the building(s) during the judging of exhibits. 9. For rules and regulations governing each division, see rules in that division. 10. Responsibility: Upon signing the Martin County Fair & Youth Livestock Show entry form, the exhibitor, parent and/or guardian agree that the Martin County Fair Association, Inc. and the County of Martin and/or it representatives are not to be held responsible for any exhibit entered for exhibition or for personal injury due to accidents, fire, theft or providential destruction. The Fair Association will exercise responsible vigilance in the care of exhibits for exhibition, but exhibits are entered at owner s risk. Any exhibits entered into the Martin County Fair & Youth Livestock Show may be photographed and used by Martin County Fair Association, Inc. for advertising. The Martin County Fair Association, Inc., assumes no responsibility in case of loss or damage to exhibits from any cause and upon this condition only are exhibits accepted. 11. Premium Award Money: a. Premium Money is given in cash on the Removal Day when exhibits are picked up. b. Premium Money awarded to an exhibitor and not collected on Removal Day, will be held in the Fair Office for 30 (thirty) days after the last day of the Martin County Fair & Youth Livestock Show. c. Premium Checks (if awarded) by the Martin County Fair & Youth Livestock Show shall be cashed by the exhibitor within 30 days of the date of the check. d. If the Exhibitor fails to collect Money or cash a Check after 30 days, all money due the Exhibitor shall belong to the Martin County Fair Association, Inc., and the Exhibitor shall be deemed to have made an unconditional and irrevocable gift of the unredeemed amount to the Martin County Fair Association. e. Premium Money and/or Checks are not mailed. 12. GATE ADMISSION PASSES ARE NOT ISSUED TO EXHIBITORS. Anyone participating in the Martin County Fair & Youth Show by way of entry, hereby agrees and consents to the use of any exhibit in any or all publications, TV, publicity, brochures, internet, etc., that the Martin County Fair Association, Inc. may desire. No exceptions will be made for late entry forms. THE FAIR OFFICE HAS THE RIGHT TO REFUSE INCOMPLETE ENTRY FORMS. All honey and beeswax entries must have been produced by the submitter and within the last 12 months. 5. All entries for honey and candles must be submitted in triplicate. i.e. three matching jars of honey, three boxes of cut comb, or three candles. These restrictions do not apply to the black jar or beeswax cake classes. 6. Extracted honey must be submitted in standard one-pound glass jars. 7. Chunk honey must be submitted in one-pound chunk honey jars with wide mouths and straight sides. Only 1 piece of comb per jar. 8. Sole criteria of black is flavor. 9. Beeswax entries must be pure beeswax. 10. Do not label products in any way. 11. Premium money is given on Removal Day when exhibits are picked up. Premium money is not mailed. 7

No loose pieces including stands. Lego exhibits are to be secured by Gluing. Exhibits with loose pieces may not be accepted. The Fair and it s representatives are not responsible for exhibits with loose, separate or unattached pieces. 8. At the discretion of the Superintendent, a category consisting of 6 or more entries may be further sub-divided. Entries received will be under the control and jurisdiction of the Fair management. If an emergency removal is necessary, exhibitor will forfeit premium money No exhibitor will be allowed to remove, handle or rearrange any exhibit. No changes will be allowed. 2. A claim check is issued for each exhibit and must be presented to claim exhibits and awards. 3. A single Official Entry Form may be used for multiple exhibits, and must be accompanied by all recipes (where required), using copies of the Recipe Form in this book. Each recipe must show all ingredients used and method of preparation. Name and address of exhibitor must be on each Recipe Form. 4. Recipes will become the property of the Martin County Fair Association, Inc., with the right to use at a future date and in a recipe book. 5. A recipe can be submitted only once every two years (no repeats of a recipe in consecutive years). 6. Members of the same family or household may not submit the same recipe. 7.
