2 INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE FOR GIRLS Career Oriented and Skill Development Course: Fashion Designing Session Objectives The Fashion Designing Career Oriented and Skill Development Course is designed to provide students with the education and experience necessary for a professional career in fashion marketing. The program of study is designed to introduce students to broad spectrum of industry, combining creativity with the industry with the opportunity to study fashion design, pattern making and garment construction. At the same time they are given insight into the world of fashion merchandising and marketing in the ever changing, fastpaced fashion industry. The main objectives of the course are: To enable students to gain knowledge of figure sketching and dress designing. To understand fashion design concept, fashion merchandising and fashion marketing. To develop skill in pattern making and garment construction 2

5 THEORY PAPERS Continuous Assessment The theory paper will consist of a test and IInd component, the relative weight age for which is shown below. Test I II Component Total Teacher Assignment/Quiz Attendance Marks 15 Interaction The 15 marks of IInd component includes Teacher Interaction of 05 marks, a Quiz of 05 marks and 05 marks for regularity, which is ascertained on the basis of the attendance of the student in the classrooms. Time duration of internal test will be 45 minutes Test I will cover unit I, II & III The question paper will consist of three sections. Section I: Consist of 05 objective type questions, carrying 1 mark each. Section II: Consist of 04 short answer type question (50-75 words), carrying 02 mark each. Section III: Consist of 02 essay type question ( words) carrying 06 mark each. The students are required to attempt the entire question in section I., 2 questions with internal choice in section II however in section III student will be required to attempt any 1 question out of 2 questions. The question paper will consist of three sections. Annual End Examination Section I will consist of 11multiple choice questions, carrying 1 mark each. Section II will consist of 6 short answer type questions (30 50 words), carrying 2 mark each. Section III will consist of 3 essay type question (500 words) with 100% choice carrying 4 mark each. The students are required to attempt all the question in section I and II, however in section III student will be required to attempt any 3 questions out of 5 questions. 5

6 PRACTICAL PAPER The practical will also consist of C.A. and A.E.E. C.A.: The practical will consist of submission, practical record, test and attendance depending on the nature of paper. A.E.E.: The component of assessment will vary according to the nature of the paper. Duration of practical examination is of four hours.
