Not only that, our designers have also raised the ante with the spectacular creations they churn out in both local and western fabrics. Gone are the days when locally made clothes used to look as if they were made out of cardboards! I am very proud of how far we have come in terms of quality and finish. But that s not the only good thing about us when it comes to fashion. Aside from magazines and fashion shows, we now have a new breed who have also created a strong presence in this industry. Here come the fashion bloggers. They dictate the pace and set the trends. So powerful have they become that several brands we know today have been to their credit. In fact most fashion brands know that once a popular blogger has worn any of their outfits, they will be smiling to the bank because the mileage is as good as gold. Who would have thought a time will come when people who are not stars or known personalities can wear your clothes and increase a brand s patronage at such speed. These bloggers sometimes change up to three times a day just to have enough content on their blogs to whet the appetites of their readers. Some of them do not stop with just outfits, they do the same with accessories or any lifestyle products that will catch the eye of their followers. What does this tell us, modern times have taken marketing to another level. As exciting as this job may sound, as it is with everything in life, nothing good comes easy. I am also a certified health coach so I know the advantage of balancing the body, soul and spirit. I try to avoid sugar and carbohydrate. I eat a high protein diet.

I find that keeping active makes me stronger. Who has been your pillar of strength through trying times? My wonderful husband. I have other great support. My four sons and my siblings.

What parting shot do you have for those in similar circumstances to give them the inspiration and confidence to believe they can achieve their desired goals?

He is such an incredible husband. I would not have been the woman I am today without him. how to maintain your Weave There s nothing worse than an unkempt looking weave. We have talked to the experts and are letting you in on ways to keep your weave looking fab for longer while keeping your natural hair underneath healthy at the same time. Condition It s imperative to deep condition your hair before attaching a weave. Dry strands underneath a heap of hair are a huge NO, NO. And so, you should apply a restorative hair treatment for 20 minutes under a dryer or a deep conditioner under a cap overnight. Style Before purchasing your hair extensions, consider the maintenance and upkeep of the hair type. If you want long and straight hair that you can have flowing down your back, be sure you have the time to style it. If not, and you know you won t put forth the effort to keep those locks intact, the curly spray and go hair might fit your lifestyle better. Also consider a texture that will blend well with your own texture of hair. No glue Please avoid glue in weaves as much as possible. They do not last as long and they damage your natural hair. Net it A good weaving net can be useful in relieving some tension that can be caused by the pulling of the track on your hair. Sew the cap to your hair and the weave onto the cap. Protect Don t neglect your real hair once it s woven. Be sure to apply nourishing oil to your hair at night before wearing your silk scarf. This will ensure the preservation of your fragile scalp and hair. Product Overload If you re used to using tons of product on your hair, stop it! Very little product is needed on premium hair. A little hair serum from time to time and you are good to go. Personalize Some weaves needs to be cut to fit your face. Razor cutting is one of the best and most popular techniques for cutting extensions. It gives you a more natural, tapered effect. Go easy on the Heat- Try not to over-style your hair on a daily basis. If you curl your hair, try to maintain it for a few days by pin plaiting or using rollers to give you loose beach waves.
