2 Decorative The flawless look is certainly in vogue at the moment. Claims such as pixilate your skin and flawless complexion are more and more prevalent in the high definition world we now live in. We all want to look our best and using decorative cosmetics certainly helps us to do this by hiding blemishes and minor skin imperfections (see Problematic Skin leaflet), dark circles, puffy eyes (see Eye Care leaflet) and by enhancing key features such as the eyes (long, dark lashes/ eyebrow pencils), cheek bones and lips. There is a growing overlap between decorative cosmetics and the skin care sector as seen by the growth of BB, CC creams and so on. More and more foundations are offering anti-wrinkle effects, lipsticks that claim to plump, mascaras to lengthen and build lashes and under eye concealers to reduce puffiness and dark circles. Plus with the ever growing trend of transfer resistant and waterproof make-up, make-up removers really need to work to avoid those panda eyes. 3 Amisol Soft (INCI: Behenyl Alcohol (and) Glyceryl Stearate (and) Lecithin (and) Glycine Soja (Soybean) Sterols) is an optimised blend of Phospholipids, Phytosterols and vegetable Lipids which forms lamellar O/W emulsions for soft applications. 8 MDI Complex (INCI: Glycosaminoglycans) is a marine Glycosaminoglycan that inhibits the Matrix Metalloproteinase (MMP) enzymes that degrade and destroy the skin s Collagen network. MDI Complex can be used to neutralise excessive MMP activity, leading to a better enzyme equilibrium needed for a natural healthy skin appearance. This equilibrium allows greater skin elasticity and increased resistance to external irritants. MDI Complex reduces the appearance of dark circles, spider veins and Rosacea. 9 MultiSal Menthol 30 (Sodium Starch Octenylsuccinate, Menthol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Extract, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Hydrated Silica). MultiSal Menthol is specifically designed for anhydrous applications that require a higher temperature in processing, for instance soap bars or solid AP sticks. Menthol evaporates at typical processing temperatures (around 80 C).The consequences of this are twofold: 1. Menthol vapor is irritating to eyes and lungs, thus filling the production environment with it is unsafe; 2. Menthol is lost, either reducing the concentration in the final product, or making it necessary to use more to make it the right concentration. MultiSal Menthol protects the active from evaporation, even under elevated temperatures (up to 160 C).
