7 FIAC GALLERIES The exhibition spaces of the Grand Palais (FIAC Galleries) are deployed between the Nave of the Grand Palais and upstairs, the Salon d Honneur, the Galeries Supérieures and the Salon Jean Perrin. For the new edition of this international event, the General Sector of FIAC brings together a carefully selected group of 195 modern and contemporary art galleries, design galleries, and editors. The contingent of French galleries includes major names in the field of modern art, notably: Galerie , Applicat-Prazan, Le Minotaure, Natalie Seroussi, Galerie Zlotowski; and in contemporary art, such as: Air de Paris, Art : Concept, Chantal Crousel, frank elbaz, gb agency, In Situ Fabienne Leclerc, Karsten Greve, Lelong & Co., kamel mennour, Nathalie Obadia, Perrotin, Almine Rech, Thaddaeus Ropac, Templon, Georges-Philippe & Nathalie Vallois etc.; together with galleries renowned for their role as discovers and tastemakers, such as Allen, Balice Hertling, Gaudel de Stampa, Marcelle Alix, High Art and Jocelyn Wolff to name a few. The 2018 edition confirms the central role of FIAC on the European scene, with the renewed presence of leading such as: Alfonso Artiaco, Buchholz, Capitain Petzel, Sadie Coles HQ, Continua, Massimo De Carlo, Konrad Fisher, Bärbel Grässlin, Max Hetzler, Xavier Hufkens, Peter Kilchmann, Krinzinger, Simon Lee, Mai 36 Galerie, Giò Marconi, Victoria Miro, Neu, neugerriemschneider, Eva Presenhuber, Esther Schipper, Sprüth Magers, Michael Werner, White Cube, Zeno X; and powerful influencers such as ChertLüdde, dépendance, Karma International, kaufmann repetto, König Galerie, Mezzanin, Neue Alte Brücke, Peres Projects, Francesca Pia, Plan B, ProjecteSD, Rodeo, and ZERO..., among others. The strength of FIAC is also reflected in the significant percentage of North American galleries present (Canada, United States, Mexico), a strength which they have in many ways contributed to building. Among the 20% participation of North American exhibitors, there are market leaders, such as: 303 Gallery, Blum & Poe, Gavin Brown s enterprise, Paula Cooper, Gagosian Gallery, Gladstone Gallery, Marian Goodman, Anton Kern, David Kordansky, Metro Pictures, Nahmad Contemporary, Pace, Regen Projects, Skarstedt, Van de Weghe and David Zwirner. They have all made FIAC a regular fixture in their exhibition calendar, as have prescribers such as C L E A R I N G, Gaga, Karma, Labor, Overduin & Co. or Reena Spaulings Fine Art. This year, FIAC spreads its outreach into Asia. Ten galleries from the region are participating: Antenna Space (Shanghai), Boers-Li (Beijing, New York, Hong Kong), Edouard Malingue (Hong Kong, Shanghai), Vitamin Creative Space (Guangzhou, Beijing), Hyundai (Seoul), Kukje (Seoul), Magician Space (Beijing), PKM Gallery (Seoul), Experimenter (Kolkata), and SCAI THE BATHHOUSE (Tokyo). The same goes for South America, with the notable entry of a gallery from Peru: 80M2 Livia Benavides (Lima) and one from Brazil: Bergamin & Gomide (São Paulo), along with Mendes Wood DM (São Paulo, Brussels, New York). The international art scene represented at FIAC also includes galleries from the Middle East and North Africa, such as: Green Art Gallery (Dubai), Dvir Gallery (Tel Aviv, Brussels) and Selma Feriani (Tunis, London). The General Sector galleries were selected by a committee consisting of internationally renowned gallerists, representing complementary fields of expertise, geographic zones, and generations: Olivier Antoine (Art : Concept, Paris), Florence Bonnefous (Air de Paris, Paris), Daniel Buchholz (Buchholz, Berlin, Cologne, New York), Gisela Capitain (Capitain Petzel, Berlin), Mark Dickenson (Neue Alte Brücke, Frankfurt), Joseph Nahmad (Nahmad Contemporary, New York), Christophe Van de Weghe (Van de Weghe, New York), and Paolo Zani (ZERO, Milan).

8 The 10 galleries selected for the Lafayette Sector were chosen out of over 150 applications, for the quality of their exhibition programmes throughout the year, and for the special project they create for FIAC presenting one or two emerging artists represented by the gallery. The Lafayette Sector was created in 2009 by FIAC and its official partner, the Galeries Lafayette group, to encourage young galleries in their chosen path by providing financial support to facilitate their presence at FIAC. The 10 participants benefit from financial support from the Galeries Lafayette Group, the Official Partner of FIAC, to a level of 50% of the price of their stand (25m²). FIAC covers accommodation costs for non-parisian participants for the duration of the fair together with set-up and dismantling periods. This ambitious programme thus offers strategic visibility to young galleries and artists during one of the leading rendez-vous of the art world and market. The particularly exciting group formed by the ten 2018 participants originate from 5 countries (Germany, the US, France, the UK and Switzerland). They wholly illustrate the courage and dynamism of the young international gallery scene and its commitment to discovering and promoting the work of emerging talents: Arcadia Missa (London), SANDY BROWN (Berlin), DOCUMENT (Chicago), Lars Friedrich (Berlin), Jan Kaps (Cologne), LOMEX (New York), Edouard Montassut (Paris), Bonny Poon (Paris), Queer Thoughts (New York), and Truth and Consequences (Geneva). While the last two galleries are present in the Lafayette Sector for the second time (Lafayette Sector regulations permit a maximum of two participations), 3 galleries from the 2017 selection have entered the General Sector: Experimenter (Kolkata), Freedman Fitzpatrick (Los Angeles, Paris), and LambdaLambdaLambda (Pristina), confirming the pertinence and effectiveness of the support apparatus provided by the Galeries Lafayette Group. Artists featured are Hannah Quinlan and Rosie Hastings at Arcadia Missa, Kamilla Bischof at SANDY BROWN, Paul Mpagi Sepuya and Julien Creuzet at DOCUMENT, Min Yoon at Lars Friedrich, Jean-Marie Appriou at Jan Kaps, Robert Bittenbender at LOMEX, Maggie Lee and Riccardo Paratore at Edouard Montassut, FPBJPC at Bonny Poon, Puppies Puppies and David Rappeneau at Queer Thoughts, and Liz Craft at Truth and Consequences. The galleries of the Lafayette Sector were selected by a jury comprising Guillaume Houzé, (President of Lafayette Anticipations Fondation d entreprise Galeries Lafayette, Paris), Mark Dickenson (Gallerist, Neue Alte Brücke, Frankfurt), Rebecca Lamarche- Vadel (Curator, Palais de Tokyo, Paris), Elisa R. Linn (Curator, km temporaer, Berlin), François Quintin (Managing director, Fondation d'entreprise Galeries Lafayette, Paris), and Matt Williams (Independent curator, London). FIAC confirms its desire to host modern and contemporary design galleries at the Grand Palais, with the return of 5 internationally renowned exhibitors who successfully participated last year in the re-establishment of this sector initiated by FIAC in 2004: Jousse Entreprise, Galerie kreo, LAFFANOUR Galerie Downtown, Eric Philippe, and Galerie Patrick Seguin. FIAC was the first fair in the world to create a design sector within its walls. FIAC is honoured to include publishers among its exhibitors: Galerie 8 + 4, GDM, Florence Loewy, and mfc-michèle didier. Two new exhibitors join the Publishers sector of FIAC in 2018: Éditions Dilecta (Paris) and TCHIKEBE (Marseille).

14 An ensemble of outdoor works, artistic projects and cultural programmes of unrivaled scope

15 FIAC PROJECTS FIAC Projects will present sculptures and installations in situ, within the prestigious setting of the Petit Palais, around the Grand Palais, and on avenue Winston Churchill, pedestrianised again this year during FIAC week. Instigated by FIAC, the pedestrianisation of the avenue has enabled the reconstruction of the original esplanade of the 1900 World Fair, thus connecting the Petit Palais and the Grand Palais. The ensemble creates an unprecedented platform to exhibit artworks within an historic museum context. FIAC Projects is conceived in collaboration with Marc-Olivier Wahler, Director of the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University. He collaborates with the curatorial teams of the Petit Palais and FIAC s artistic directors to select the artworks presented within the Petit Palais. The Avenue Winston Churchill will feature outdoor works by Renaud Auguste-Dormeuil, Barry Flanagan, Gregor Hildebrandt, Lang & Baumann, Teresa Margolles, Stefan Nikolaev, Takis among others. The artworks presented in the Petit Palais will be announced shortly. In collaboration with Athem & Skertzo, specialists in video mapping, FIAC proposes a new exhibition space: a programme of especially conceived artist s works will be projected onto the façade of the Grand Palais, activated every evening from 7pm. Video works by Claude Closky and Isabelle Cornaro, among others, will be presented. Videos will also be screened in various metro stations in Paris, in collaboration with the RATP, for the duration of the FIAC. Tuesday, October 16th 6pm - 9pm VIP Preview of FIAC Projects at the Petit Palais, access to the reception upon presentation of the invitation or the Guest of honour accreditation Wednesday, October 17th 10am - 9pm Public opening Thursday, 18th and Friday, 19th of October 10am - 8pm Public opening Saturday, 20th and Sunday, 21st of October 10am - 7pm Public opening Petit Palais Avenue Winston Churchill, Paris

16 FIAC HORS LES MURS FIAC Hors les Murs reaffirms its powerful cultural vocation through the outdoor works programme, which enables the public to discover artworks exhibited throughout the city, presented at some of the most prestigious and emblematic locations in Paris. FIAC creates an unrivalled artistic programme accessible to all, while offering exhibitors and their artists a unique opportunity to enter into a dialogue with the Parisian heritage. Inauguration cocktail on Tuesday, October 16 th, at 2pm at the Café Marronniers, first café on the right in the central alley from the Place de la Concorde entrance. Access upon presentation of the invitation or your Guest of honour accreditation. FIAC, in association with the musée du Louvre, presents its Hors les Murs outdoor exhibition in the Jardin des Tuileries, inaugurated in Some thirty artworks are displayed in different spaces within the garden, resonating with this heritage setting in the heart of Paris and responding to its scale, perspectives and history. Discover artworks and monumental installations by Juliaan Andeweg, Laëtitia Badaut Haussmann, Gilles Barbier, Alexander Calder, Isabelle Cornaro, Daniel Firman, Robert Indiana, Alicja Kwade, Mia Marfurt, Per Kirkeby, François-Xavier Lalanne, Richard Long, Olivier Mosset, Kohei Nawa, Paulo Nazareth, Christodoulos Panayiotou, Tere Recarens, Pablo Reinoso, Thomas Schütte, Vladimir Skoda, Michele Spanghero, Keiji Uematsu, Henk Visch, Zhan Wang, Franz West, among others. Jardin des Tuileries, Paris Inauguration cocktail on Tuesday, October 16th, at 2pm at the Café Marroniers, first café on the right in the central alley from the Place de la Concorde entrance. Access upon presentation of the invitation or your Guest of honour accreditation. In an unprecedented development of the Hors les Murs promenade in the Jardin des Tuileries, FIAC inaugurates an ephemeral village of architectural projects on the most iconic of all Parisian squares, the Place de la Concorde. Exceptional installations will be presented, forming an ensemble of historic and contemporary architecture and artists houses. This outstanding introduction to ephemeral architecture, nomadic habitats, and utopian living spaces includes emblematic architectures by Jean Prouvé and Jean Maneval, together with an installations by Kengo Kuma and Claude Parent, among others. Place de la Concorde, Paris Inauguration cocktail on Sunday, October 14th at noon at the Musée National Eugène Delacroix, upon presentation of the invitation or your Guest of honour accreditation In the continuity of FIAC Hors les Murs in the Jardin des Tuileries, the Musée National Eugène Delacroix opens to FIAC visitors, in collaboration with the musée du Louvre. Situated in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the museum is an unexpected haven of peace, niched between courtyard and garden. The separate studio building and adjacent garden were entirely designed by the artist himself. Transformed into a museum by the painter Maurice Denis, it was originally the artist s apartment and studio. This unique jewel-like setting will feature works by Rebecca Warren, in collaboration with the gallery Max Hetzler. Rebecca Warren (born in 1965, lives and works in London) makes sculptures, assemblages and constructions in a variety of materials including clay, bronze, steel and neon. She has said about her work that it comes from a strange nowhere, then gradually something comes out into the light. There are impulses, half-seen shapes, things that might have stuck with you from decades ago, as well as more recently. It's all stuff in the world going through you as a filter... Musée national Eugène Delacroix, 6 rue de Furstenberg, Paris

17 Inauguration on Monday, October 15th at 6pm, on the Place Vendôme, followed by a cocktail at the Hôtel d Évreux, at the 19, place Vendôme, upon presentation of the required invitation. FIAC invites an artist to install a major artwork or to imagine a specific project for the Place Vendôme which provides both powerful inspiration and an exceptional decor for contemporary creation. Like a jewellery box set in stone, the square of the place Vendôme exemplifies creation, excellence and savoir-faire and has showcased over the years works by Jaume Plensa, Tadashi Kawamata, Paul McCarthy, Dan Graham, Ugo Rondinone and Oscar Tuazon. In collaboration with the gallery Perrotin, this year FIAC gives carte blanche to Elmgreen & Dragset to present an in-situ project on this prestigious Parisian square. Place Vendôme, Paris To Whom It May Concern, 2018 For Place Vendôme, Elmgreen & Dragset will install 100 red starfish scattered around the square. In contrast to traditional monumental public sculptures, the work adopts the horizontality of minimal land art and subtly takes over the plaza like a swarm of friendly intruders. According to legend, starfish have been considered reflections of the stars in the sky on the ocean floor. Even though these creatures do not have brains, they can move and sense the world around them through instincts and reflexes. But these mysterious and magical creatures have over the last decades become threatened due to environmental pollution. It is as if rising water has engulfed the very center of Paris, leaving red starfish spread around the square in its wake a nod to the Paris Climate Agreement and its challenges. The 100 red starfish remind us not only of the urgency of change today, but they also, through their ability to regenerate and survive even radical amputations, symbolize hope for regrowth and new living modes. In conjunction with FIAC, Perrotin Paris presents a solo exhibition of Elmgreen & Dragset from October 13 to December 22, The installation To Whom It May Concern has been acquired ahead of its presentation by Dragonfly Collection, it will then go to the Domaine des Etangs in Massignac, in the Charentes region. FIAC receives the support of Mirabaud, financial and banking group founded in Geneva in Place Vendôme Sponsor: Media partner - FIAC Hors les Murs:

In collaboration with Platform, Network of the Regional collections of contemporary art Upon presentation of a FIAC entrance ticket or accreditation Grand Palais, Rotunda Alexandre III, level 1, pm Will Benedict, Les Uns et les Autres, 2018 Performance in collaboration with Balice Hertling Palais de la Découverte, main entrance, avenue Franklin Delano Roosevelt, pm Etel Adnan Reading in French A poet, painter and essayist, Etel Adnan was born in Beirut of a Syrian father and a Greek mother from Smyrna. Since the 1970s, at the crossroads between Arab and Western civilizations, she has created an oeuvre that fuses literary and plastic creation, in particular with her leporellos. This poet-artist is inhabited by the power of reality, as attests her poetic work on the Lebanese war with two founding texts, Sitt Marie Rose (1977) and The Arab Apocalypse (1980), and more recently Tolerance (2018), which make her one of the leading voices of feminism and the peace movement. Some of her texts will be read, in her presence, by the actor Sophie Bourel. In collaboration with Galerie Lelong & Co. Petit Palais, Auditorium, 75008

19 -7pm Michael Portnoy, Portnoy (born 1936) Improvises, 2018, 1h Performance in English Internationally renowned performance artist Michael Portnoy has revealed the shocking news that he is in fact 35 years older than he has claimed to be, and has been disguising his true age throughout his career with prosthetic makeup. In this performance, Portnoy will present himself to us for the first time without a mask, improvising and confusing us in his inimitable way with the collision of movement, an alchemical approach to language and alien logics. Art historian Claire Bishop will give a short introductory lecture on Portnoy s newly discovered early history in New York in the late 1950s, discussing his influences and antagonisms within the avantgarde communities of dance, poetry and visual art. Palais de la Découverte, main entrance, avenue Franklin D. Roosevelt, Access through the Salon d honneur of the Grand Palais or the main entrance of the Palais de la Découverte. -9pm Tribute to Franz West, A Viennese jazz night, 1h Concert interpreted by Franz Koglmann, Freddie Jelinek, Clementine Gasser The time of a jazz evening, Franz Koglmann, Freddie Jelinek, Clementine Gasser friends of Franz West revive the musical performances of the artist s late-1970s vernissages during a unique concert. In collaboration with the MNAM/CCI, as part of Franz West s exhibition Reservation mandatory fw.evenements@centrepompidou.fr Centre Pompidou, Galerie 2, inside Franz West s «Auditorium» installation, pm LEV Dance Company (Sharon Eyal & Gai Behar), OCD Love, 2016, 55 min Contemporary dance Israeli choreographers Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar present the acclaimed L-E-V company creation, OCD Love. From their hearts, they embark on a heart-breaking love story. OCD Love is about love, love that always misses, or lovers who keep missing each other. Out of sync. Like if one person comes to bed and the other gets up. Like something that is full and intact, but has many holes in it. This work is about the holes. The archives of this ultimate incomplete work including handwritten notes, sketches, literary references, typescript, and a posthumous video of a rehearsal unearth new research by the artist on gestural language, mime, and choreography. 21 -2pm Daniel Linehan, Medium Medium, 2018, 1h Contemporary dance In Medium Medium, Daniel Linehan takes the audience on a guided tour in which he creates a performative dialogue between seven selected artworks on view and his own artistic work. The artworks speak to him, and he speaks back to them through the medium of dance, and by reciting poetic fragments from his 2013 book, A No Can Make Space. Linehan engages with the artworks in a playful and mischievous way, dancing and talking in order to enter into diverse kinds of relationships between his moving body and object, creating links, parallels, slippages, and tangents. Linehan claims to establish a communication between different mediums, which are in various states of being alive or not alive. 22 From Friday 19th to Sunday 21st of October 2018, FIAC presents a three day conference programme, entitled Conversation Room, which takes place within the fair, in a dedicated space on the first floor to the right of the grand Escalier d honneur, showcasing Olivier Vadrot s CAVEA mobile furniture collection (loaned by Centre National des Arts Plastiques). In 2018, FIAC gives carte blanche to Hans Ulrich Obrist, Simon Castets, Julie Boukobza & Tom Eccles to moderate a 4 conference cycle on Friday19th and Saturday 20th of October: The themes of this programme are The Filter Bubble and Contactless. Filter Bubble was an 89plus group exhibition co-curated by Simon Castets and Hans Ulrich Obrist at Luma Westbau in Zurich in The term is coined by Eli Pariser in his eponymous 2011 book which designates the way Internet users are increasingly directed to a personalized information landscape through an algorithmic editing of web content. The panel will examine the continued relevance of Pariser s ominous concept in an increasingly polarized political landscape. Contactless questions how technology is using a utopian idea of frictionless, worry-free living with limited inter-human contact, all in facilitation of the flow of capital and the furtherance of surveillance. The cycle is proposed in relation to Walead Beshty s exhibition Picture Industry: A Provisional History of the Technical Image, presented at the Luma Foundation in Arles during FIAC. Additionally, the Conversation Room will host discussion panels by Artagon, in collaboration with Numéro art, Realised in the Jungle: the entrance of young artist in the art world, moderated by Anna Labouze & Keimis Henni, founders and curators of Artagon, and Thibaut Wychowanok, editor in chief of the magazine Numéro art, along with conversations moderated by Charles Teyssou and Pierre- Alexandre Mateos from the Cruising Pavillon on the queer and cruising culture from the 60s to nowadays, its links to the arts and its political dimension and Time for The Ocean, a not-for-profit association which promotes interaction between Art and the Environment with a focus on the protection of the Ocean and Coastlines and the preservation of marine and coastal ecosystems. 23 From Wednesday, October 17th to Sunday, October 21st from noon to 8pm. FIAC and Fondation d entreprise Ricard present the ninth edition of the Cinéphémère, a short films programme by artists streamed during FIAC week, from Wednesday 17 th to Sunday 21 st of October. Some thirty artists films have been selected by associate curator Nataša Petrešin-Bachelez, independent curator, editor and writer. The films are screened in open and free access, in a nomad 14-seat movie theatre entirely equipped for this purpose, located on Avenue Winston Churchill, between the Grand Palais and the Petit Palais. At a time of violent racialization and profound ecological crisis, organized governmental abuse of natural resources and common goods is reinforced, but so are civil and citizen initiatives and resistances. At a time when increasingly breathing clean air is political, drinking pure water is political (Black Quantum Futurism collective), we observe critical artistic positions and voices that engage in real life situations, activist research and fieldwork across Global North and Global South. This programme of videos and short films brings together internationally acclaimed artists from various backgrounds whose work is inspired and informed by gendered ecologies, intersections between racial and ecological issues, pollution, toxicity and environmental racism. The films present narrations on past, present and future catastrophes through approaches and knowledge that come from Afrofuturism and Arab futurism, ecofeminist engagement and social justice struggles. Presented artists: Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Sophia Al Maria, Basma Alsharif, Marwa Arsanios, Sammy Baloji, Ali Cherri, Joana Hadjithomas & Khalil Joreige, Emre Hüner, Kapwani Kiwanga, Vik Muniz, Uriel Orlow, LaToya Ruby Frazier, Xu Tan, Koki Tanaka, Charwei Tsai, Robin Vanbesienc, among others. 29 The intention of the Avant-Première project is to draw attention to a community of young galleries and independent space in Paris. Its purpose is to encourage outside visitors (collectors, curators and curators, councilors, museum groups, etc.) to come to Paris earlier, before the "fair week", in order to devote time and energy to visit the different galleries and independent spaces that together represent the new international art scene. If the main objective of this project is to draw attention to the diversity of different artistic initiatives in Paris, the long-term goal would be to create a new, more up-to-date guide to art in Paris. In addition to the Paris contingent, ten galleries from Los Angeles have been invited to participate at Avant-Première by occupying various space throughout the city: a restaurant, a café, a bookstore, a sales area. Paris Avant-Premières will open on Friday, October 12, from 6pm to midnight (a long evening of opening), as well as a press preview from 1pm to 6pm. The Brain: Our Creative Driver! At the point of intersection between the worlds of art and science lies the realm of creativity. Artists and researchers alike could not envisage their work without exploration, without confronting different approaches to reality, motivated by their desire to change the status quo. At the Brain and Spine Institute (ICM) in Paris, scientists from all over the world are placing their creativity in service to cutting-edge research in the neurosciences, in order to constantly improve our understanding and knowledge about the brain and spine. Starting with the infinitely small to find concrete therapeutic solutions is ICM s promise, a centre for excellence and a world leader in this field. Since its creation in 2010, the Institute located on the premises of the Hôpital de la Pitié-Salpêtrière, historic heritage in the field of neurology, has succeeded in its innovative mission of bringing together researchers, doctors, and patients within a single site. To date, thanks to the power of this French Silicon Valley of the brain, supported by institutional or civil-society partnerships and connected to the cultural, artistic, or sports worlds, major progress has been made on diseases affecting the central nervous system (Alzheimer s, Parkinson, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), strokes, brain tumours, psychiatric problems, tetraplegia, etc.). Research, like art, has a fundamental need for support in order to exist. Empowering researchers is essential for accelerating discoveries concerning nervous system diseases and thus allowing men and women to remain free in their movements and thoughts. This year, the theme chosen is Alzheimer s disease, and more specifically, the cutting-edge research by neurologist and researcher Stéphane Epelbaum. The publishing house WE DO NOT WORK ALONE, specialized in everyday objects by artists, reiterates this year it s partnership with Fiac. After the Love & Hate art work handling gloves by Mathieu Mercier and the tape measure Mêtre-Cool by Annette Messager, WE DO NOT WORK ALONE proposes this year a new functional object by François Curlet : the Taille-Pipe-Crayon. This pen sharpener in the shape of Magritte s smoking pipe and made out of aluminium will be given to each gallery and proposed to the public in new mobile displays designed specially for Fiac.

35 A TEMPORARY GRAND PALAIS The installation plan for a temporary Grand Palais on the Champ-de-Mars between 2021 and 2024 has been approved by the Council of Paris on the 2 nd of July. As the Grand Palais will be closed for renovation between early 2021 and the spring of 2023, this temporary facility is intended to house the major art, fashion and sporting events usually held in the Nave, such as FIAC. Holding these events in a central, prestigious space in the capital during these works will help ensure and reinforce their success, as well as cementing the role of Paris as world capital of art and culture. Located on the Plateau Joffre on the Champ-de-Mars, the temporary Grand Palais will be written into the history of this space, in the same tradition as the place it occupied during the great Universal Expositions of the 19th and early 20th centuries. It will be extremely well-considered from an aesthetic and architectural perspective, fitting seamlessly into the surroundings of the Champ-de-Mars and representing an exemplary achievement in terms of simplicity and sustainable development. The temporary Grand Palais will remain open for several months after the newly-renovated Grand Palais re-opens in The building will house events and operations linked to the Olympic and Paralympic Games until September A draft agreement between the Rmn-Grand Palais and the Paris 2024 Committee has been proposed with a view to this excellent collaboration. The Grand Palais will begin its renovation and refurbishment works from 1 January This work will modernise its spaces, strengthen its standing and appeal and showcase its architectural identity. It will create an ideal setting for exhibitions, cultural and other major events and, by 2024, for the tae kwon do and fencing events of the Olympic Games. The Grand Palais will re-open in the spring of 2023, with the exception of the Palais de la Découverte, the renovation of which will be completed by spring Press contact RMNGP Florence Le Moing florence.le-moing@rmngp.fr

As a reflection of our society, works of art allow us to see the world from a different or anticipatory perspective. They also bear witness to history. Mirabaud s commitment to contemporary art coincides with the Group s long-term vision in pursuing management activities with high added value. Mirabaud supports both established talents and young emerging artists, as well as those contributing to showcasing art. The Group has established a collection of contemporary as well as older artworks over many years, building a bridge between tradition and modernity. These pieces are exhibited in various Mirabaud branches in Switzerland, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, Luxembourg, Italy, Canada and the United Arab Emirates. The partnership with FIAC, in the context of the works exhibited at the Place Vendôme, is a demonstration of Mirabaud s active support for the development and promotion of contemporary art. "Our keen involvement alongside FIAC is reflected in the continuation of our active support in the world of contemporary art, being embraced by the collection that we have been building on for many years now with great passion. We are especially delighted to formalise our partnership by supporting the work by Elmgreen & Dragset at Place Vendôme an emblematic location for Paris. Artworks by this duo never fail to stimulate dialogue and emotions that enrich the way in which we see the world. Reflecting on the place and role of human beings in the world and to be committed alongside artists these are values which have been guiding us ever since the foundation of Mirabaud almost 200 years ago. By introducing new tools and a transformation in their way of working and in their service offerings, lawyers become active players in this transformation, allowing their clients to grasp the legal challenges of the current and upcoming big modern changes in the best conditions. The Fondation d entreprise Ricard is carrying on the art sponsorship the Ricard Company has been engaged in for more than twenty years and has been a springboard for a whole generation of artists. Situated in the heart of Paris, the foundation is a venue for exhibitions, creativity and encounters in the context of art in its most contemporary forms. The Foundation organizes between 5 and 6 exhibitions every year and regularly invites external curators. It is also a place of exchange and discussion: every month the public is invited to take part in debates in a spontaneous and convivial atmosphere. The Fondation d'entreprise Ricard also helps to fund the publication of artists' monographs and collective works. Created in 1999, the Fondation d entreprise Ricard prize was the first one to be dedicated to an emerging artist from the French art scene. Every year a different curator is invited to organize an exhibition at the Foundation that presents a new group of artists under 40. The prize is then awarded to one of the artists, by a jury composed of art collectors, museum directors and the curators of the previous Ricard prize editions. With the award comes the purchase of a work that is donated to the Centre Pompidou to join its permanent collection. The Fondation d entreprise Ricard additionally supports the realization of a project by the prize-winner abroad. Amid the celebration of its 190 years of creation, Guerlain renews its participation in the FIAC s private itinerary this year and presents a thematic exhibition dedicated to the avant-garde of contemporary art at the House of Guerlain, at number 68, Champs-Elysées. In keeping with Guerlain s long-lasting tradition of collaborating with artists since 1828, the 68 anchors its cultural heritage in the current times, develops bridges between the arts, creates chemistry between genres and talents. 39 The Collector s Edition Boxes: Sharing Contemporary Art Lab Bel, the Artistic Laboratory of Bel Group launched in 2014 an impressive series of collaborations with major contemporary artists, each of whom will design a not-to-be-missed Collector s Edition Box in celebration of The Laughing Cow s 100th anniversary in These collaborations continue the special rapport that has always existed between the brand and the artists who have used it as a source of inspiration for nearly a century. Each Collector s Edition Box is an original work of art in its own right, made available to collectors at the standard retail price. Each of them presents consumers with a choice: to eat the content or leave them unopened to preserve its aesthetic value. By bringing contemporary art to the broadest audience possible in a way that s both original and offbeat, the Collector s Edition Box project epitomizes the philosophy of Lab Bel since its creation in Following Hans-Peter Feldmann, Thomas Bayrle, Jonathan Monk and Wim Delvoye, always curated by Michael Staab, it s now the turn of German artist Karin Sander to create the 5th Collector s Edition Box. This edition will be presented to public for the first time in FIAC 2018, partner of the project since In 2004, Maja Hoffmann created the Luma Foundation to support the activities of artists, independent pioneers, and organizations working in the visual arts, photography, publishing, documentary filmmaking, and multimedia. Originally based in Switzerland and envisioned as a production tool for Hoffmann s multifaceted ventures, the Luma Foundation produces, supports, and enables challenging art projects committed to an expansive understanding of environmental issues, human rights, education, and culture. In 2013, Hoffmann launched Luma Arles to plan, develop, and manage the Parc des Ateliers, an expansive former industrial site located in Arles, France. Situated adjacent to the city s UNESCO World Heritage sites, the Parc des Ateliers serves as the major programmatic and cultural center for LUMA Foundation s diverse activities. Mutina for Art Mutina enters the world of contemporary art through an ambitious and multi-faceted project called Mutina for Art, which includes MUT a dedicated exhibition space within its headquarters This is Not a Prize an important prize awarded annually and Dialogue, a program of collaborations with artists, galleries and partners as well as international artistic institutions. Sarah Cosulich s involvement as curator coincides with the company s desire to give an articulated structure to its commitment towards contemporary art, making it a source of influence, experience and, above all, a territory of exchange. As part of its historical commitment to contemporary art, Renault is pleased to be the official carrier of FIAC. After having presented two great sculptures by Jean-Luc Moulène, produced in its workshops thanks to a collaboration between the artist and its high tech engineers, Renault decided to reiterate its collaboration with FIAC.

40 Founded in 1729, Ruinart is the first established champagne house. The elegance and the know-how of its cuvées have nurtured its unwavering commitment to art since then. The House of Ruinart expresses its connection and commitment to art by commissioning well-known artists since 1896, when Alphonse Mucha created a first artwork. Each year, artists receive Carte Blanche and create their vision of the House, to share its heritage, history, expertise and cuvées. This year, with the creation of his performance images, the Chinese artist Liu Bolin trains the spotlight on the techniques and knowhow that go into the making of champagne. The invisibility of actual people reveals the hidden imprint of human labour and highlights Ruinart's close relationship with nature. PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY. The Manufacture de Sèvres has been producing high-quality porcelain pieces and artworks since Royal, imperial and now national, guarantor of the preservation and transfer of expertise, Sèvres embodies the excellence of France's arts and crafts. Throughout its prestigious history, Sèvres has always valued artistic collaborations. It now renews them. Guest artists will be seduced by the material's expressive qualities, the Sèvres palette's chromatic potential, the diversity of shapes available in its repertoire and the magic of transformation through fire, and they will be inspired by their constant dialogue with the Manufacture's art craftsmen. Thus, creations are born, which go down in the history of Sèvres prior to being disseminated among collectors and cultural institutions. Active on the contemporary art scene, Sèvres takes part in the most prestigious international art fairs. These events provide an occasion to show the extent to which its constantly renewed production can amaze and disrupt art codes. To collect Sèvres is to appropriate a bit of the unique heritage, both material and immaterial, that Sèvres craftsmen have been creating every day for the past 300 years. 43 As a long-standing partner of the FIAC, the City of Paris provides continuing support to the creative arts and to artists themselves. With its stand Fonds municipal d art contemporain - Ville de Paris (Municipal Contemporary Art Collection City of Paris), it showcases the latest acquisitions of the Fonds municipal d art contemporain (FMAC, Municipal Contemporary Art Collection), the only public collection on display at this major art fair. The FMAC is working on providing extended, equal access to contemporary works of art by displaying them in key areas, frequented on a daily basis by users of municipal public services, to youngers audiences with the Fmac goes to school programme. Partnerships with social actors are also set up. For the third consecutive year, the partnership between the Public Institution of the museums of the City of Paris and the FIAC has been expanded with the creation of Fiac Projects, section of the FIAC exhibition hosted by the Petit Palais City of Paris Museum of Fine Art. This selection of sculptures and installations will be open to all visitors free of charge, as the collections of the museum. Every year, the Réunion des musées nationaux - Grand Palais presents approximately forty highly-diversified cultural events in Paris, regionally and internationally. The Grand Palais, one of the French people's favorite monuments, is its prestigious showcase in the heart of Paris. Exhibitions, concerts, shows, fairs, performances the agenda is both demanding and popular, and accessible to all, promoting cultural democratization through rich and varied cultural mediation. Alongside events, the Réunion des musées nationaux - Grand Palais spreads culture through its publishing activities, its network of art bookstores and its photo agency, the leading French agency for art pictures. The Réunion des musées nationaux - Grand Palais also contributes to enhancing national collections through its acquisitions on behalf of the State. A Timeless Venue in the Heart of Paris Installed in the western wing of the Grand Palais, the Palais was created for the 1937 World Fair, with the aim of introducing the scientific method to the public by way of spectacular experiments conducted daily by scientific mediators. For 80 years, this one-of-akind venue has attracted a wide audience of all ages. Exploring the Fundamental Sciences Around fifty experimental demonstrations performed daily, exhibitions, un chercheur, une manip (one researcher, one approach) presentations devised in close cooperation with the scientific and academic community, spark curiosity and conversation among the visitors to the Palais. This interactive approach offers the public keys for understanding fundamental scientific principles.

44 The École du Louvre is once again a FIAC partner and contributes to the FIAC Hors les Murs project with its exhibition programme of monumental artworks within public space and FIAC Projects, which exhibits sculptures and installations within a historic museum context. In the Tuileries Garden, Place Vendôme, at the Musée Delacroix, at the Petit Palais, near the Grand Palais and on around sixty projects will be installed and each artwork will be presented daily by students from the École du Louvre, from 19 to 22 October, from 3 to 5:30 pm. This original mediation operation, presented to the widest possible audience, represents one form of practical application of the school s teachings. Designed as an IRL pedagogical exercise, it is coordinated by contemporary art professors and the school s teaching staff. In 2017, over one hundred students thus tackled the various constitutive phases of a mediation project (study, research, documentation, texts, contact with the galleries, the artists, mediation techniques, analysis, report, etc.) and concluded this operation with the writing of a notice, signed by them and integrated within the online FIAC catalogue. A lively partnership of exchanges and debates, which also enables the school to reaffirm its ongoing involvement in the study, research, and distribution of contemporary art, one of the 31 specialised disciplines offered to students from the school s undergraduate level upwards. Founded in 1882, a public establishment under the aegis of the French Ministry of Culture, located in the Palais du Louvre, the École du Louvre is an institute of higher learning that provides classes in art history, archaeology, epigraphy, history of civilisations, anthropology, and museology. The École du Louvre also enables unregistered students (more than audit students) to access certain classes designed for the students and take specific night classes over summer, in the regions (24 partner cities and museums). An open-minded place of study and research, the school and its research team hold conferences, study days, and seminars; publish manuals, specialised books, and an online research journal. The Louvre Museum is delighted to be a FIAC partner for the thirteenth consecutive year. On this occasion, around thirty sculptures are presented within the Domaine National du Louvre et des Tuileries and at the Musée National Eugène-Delacroix. This collaboration perpetuates one of the Louvre s primary missions, that of hosting living artists. The Louvre welcomed 8.1 million visitors through its doors in 2017 and presented artworks, including major long-term decors by contemporary artists such as Cy Twombly s ceiling or François Morellet s staircase. The Tuileries Garden also participates in this promotion of contemporary art, with the presence of numerous sculptures in the garden, including Penone s renowned Vowel Tree. Following interventions under the pyramid by the artists Claude Lévêque, Loris Gréaud, Tony Cragg, Wim Delvoye, and JR, the work Throne by Japanese artist Kohei Nawa will float beneath the viewing platform of the Pyramid from July 2018 onwards. With its mission of providing a global stage, the Louvre is proud to be open to a wide range of artistic expressions. The Petit Palais and Paris Musées are pleased to continue their collaboration with FIAC, initiated in FIAC Projects brings together around forty sculptural works and installations chosen by Marc-Olivier Wahler (Director of the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, Michigan State University), in association with Christophe Leribault, Director of the Petit Palais, and Susana Gállego Cuesta, Head Curator of the museum. The artworks will be exhibited in the South Gallery, the garden of the museum as well as on the esplanade in front of the building, being car free for the occasion. This sector will enable FIAC galleries to display artworks in unique conditions within the exceptional context of the historic Petit Palais. The Petit Palais is also delighted to participate in the performance festival Parades for FIAC dedicated to performative practices and interdisciplinarity in contemporary art, at the point of intersection between music, dance, performance, theatre, and poetry. Ideally located, directly opposite the Grand Palais, the Petit Palais was built specially for the Paris Exhibition of It became the City of Paris Fine Arts museum in Its collection represents the main artistic movements from Ancient Greece right up to the First World War.

The largest contingents of exhibitors are French (1/3) and European (2/5), while American galleries represent 1/4 of all exhibitors.
