2 Training young students to become fashion designers today, is a complex challenge. With technical skills to acquire, new technologies being added to traditonal ones which are still necessary to master garment specifications to understand, time management and methodolgy to develop - there is a lot to pack into the students time, ready to prepare them for the ever quickening pace of today s fashion industry! And in educational terms, there is an addittional challenge - in this fascinating field of fashion, existing between art and industry, everything starts from the personalities of the future designers. Understanding their own universe, their reference systems, cultural background and individual creative matrix, is the basis on which to guide their curiosity, sharpen their vision, and help them to shape personal ideas. Creative intuitions must be transformed into new, sometimes surprising, and always wearable products, and coherent collections. At IFA Paris, we are fortunate to have a thriving bastion of strong and diverse talents, who come to Paris from all over the world, ready to eventually take their place in the competitive industry of which they dream. We wanted to share with you the work of a selection of these upcoming designers, from the three year Bachelors course in Fashion Design & Technology, and the Masters of Arts in Contemporary Fashion Design. We hope you will appreciate their creative endeavors as much as we do they represent years of study, research and experimentation! We hope that this will give a small insight into the creative minds of a new generation, and perhaps ignite a curiosity to discover more At IFA Paris we love their talent! 3 Aibao LU BFD lydialu@live.cn My inspiration for this collection comes from a song written by a famous Chinese vocalist. The name of the song is called As Free as a Dream. The song describes how and what the singer had gone through to become famous.the main theme is to describe the realities of society and how he had overcome all sorts of difficulties, pressure and hard working. He used freedom as in a dream to drive for his determination for success and to inspire himself when overcoming difficulties. He believes the value of Freedom (as in a dream) can help him to relax, build up his strength and determination to become successful in fulfilling his dream at the end. Also the draw of my collection as been inspired by the famous artist - Adam Martinakis -. I used contrast colors, strip and large shape patterns to reflect realities of society (beautiful, success and tough difficulties). My choice is a mix of strong and thick materials (woolen yarn, feathers) stand for determination and hardworking, while the soft wool thread represents freedom. At the end, the bright-orange color reflects bright future and great success of one's achievement. 2 3

4 PAIN A.I Busola OBAYOMI BFD 2017 HOPE MECHANISM 3 Rob Haute is imagined from a future where technology enables humans to become superhuman. Thus, humans are able to trade their limitations for happiness through technology, in the ultimate Dream Bazaar. Leather and plastic fabrics are combined in the collection to represent the human and technological elements, while colours are selected to represent the range of human emotions. 5 Ghazalsadat Mobasseri BFD 2017 My dream bazaar is where I can find all the traditions that we have forgotten about, but they used to be important to us. The things taht remind me of my childhood and bring back all the memories. To respect all the traditions and to follow them can be like a dream nowadays. The Dream Bazaar indicates the culture as well as the traditions of each part of a country. That is the main inspiration of this collection 6 7

6 Menna Salem BFD 2017 As a child, we can deny the reality of our eventual death; however, as we get older we become more conscious of the idea of death. We lose our grandparents, our parents, and our friends. Epicurus said, Why should I fear death? If I am, death is not. If death is, I am not. Why should I fear that which cannot exist when I do? You see, I fear death. I know death exists. I plan for death. But resist death. Therefore, my inspiration for this collection is to accept my fear of death. I want to turn my fear into something beautiful. Death is such a dark thought; why not extract the good from it?

7 Tamisu Blanquicett Woo BFD 2017 This collection was based on the beauty of femininity and the complexity of the women mind. The dream Bazaar was represented through different manipulation of textiles, representing the brain activity, the overthinking proccesses and developement of ideas (fabric weaving, tie dye, ruffles, layering and flowing harmony) t h e c o l l e c t i o n 10 11

8 mood research Zoé Gray BFD 2017 paris My collection is inspired by Dream Bazaar the endless possibilities of the everyday; The way everything forms you, everyone has their own story. Something insignificant to someone could mean the world to another. Random daily influences and powerful experiences can shape your mind; I am really attracted by the chaotic nature of a flea market, it reflects the chaotic nature of life. Antique and random objects, I wanted to capture this feeling of luxury that something old can be reworked and return as something brand new. I printed my own fabric; faces and landscapes layered reworking and updating the classic gingham pattern, asymmetrical shapes in my clothes to contrast with what we consider normal, strange seams, combining unexpected materials. Colours, textures, fine material transformations dominate my collection n 12 13

Overall the collection conveys a celebration of life through its use of vibrant colours and re-thought garment structures. 10 Victoria Anne Quarrier BFD 2017 The theme of this collection is Dream Bazaar, as a marketplace of dreams. The unconscious mind in the clouds. A mix of humor and surrealism, this is a lingerie and loungewear based collection focusing on hands in particular. You may dream of hands grabbing you from under the bed while you sleep, or dream of you lover s hands on you, but no matter what hands are a staple in dreams and human desires. Playful, cozy, sexy and slightly strange. This is Dream Bazaar. B A Z A A R 16 17

11 Victoria Nguyen MACFD 2017 Inspired by neurological disruptions in the brain, this collection focuses on the rapid transitions of emotions experienced from heightened sensory. To personalize the project Victoria used her own personal raw emotions that were documented through drawings and paintings over a 3 months period. This documentation defined the collection to be raw and primitive, hence several humble hand engineering textile techniques were used to align to the fragility of the concept. The collection was built on all natural fabrics such as pashmina, silk, linen and cotton that were deconstructed, hand dyed and painted, pleated, gathered, slashed and frayed

12 Gala Limon MACFD 2017 As an homage to Mexican woman, the Adela collection represents the female energy and strength of all woman that resonates with sensibility, wisdom and humour which breathes the spirit of freedom and consciousness are embodied in a rebellious fun, youthful and contemporary eclectic style. All designs In the collection have been thoughtfully designed with carefully selected richly textured Parisian wools partnered with soft silks, and enriched with unique hand embroideries produced by thefair trade standards of Tzoltzil Indigenous women community in Mexico

13 Kitseng Lei MACFD 2017 This fashion collection deconstructs the inspiration from Polly Pocket (toys popular in the 90 s). It combines the 90 s youth culture and the diversity in the theory of Polly Pocket s design. Simultaneously, the collection challenges the traditional concepts of gender and advocate liberation of homosexual culture

14 Paola Guttierrez MACFD 2017 D i v i n e collisions gives birth to the internal reflection of a period of war in which the biggest battle we face is within ourselves. It is a constant manipulation between the tensions that pulls the opposite forces that lies within us. Is the divine and sublime in the juxtapose preservation and decay in fashion. Inspired by the mysticism as way to empower woman threw powerful symbols and cords which are the principal protagonist threw the collection

15 Ruonan Sun MACFD 2017 Rokiller collection : Boxing is a wild art, it combines of Human s power, courage and perseverance. When you are in danger you will revolt by your hands. There is a rule in the boxing competition : never give up until you beat the opponnets down
