1 03/31/2014 No. 9 Final report TV TecStyle Visions 2014: Experts came with high investment intentions International growth: TV TecStyle Visions underlines unique selling proposition with 250 exhibitors from 21 countries With 250 exhibitors, TV TecStyle Visions 2014 impressively underlines its unique selling proposition as European leading trade fair for textile decoration and promotion and once more - turned out as locomotive and motor of the EXPO 4.0, the trade show quartet for visual and haptic communication professional visitors (2012: ) came to Stuttgart from February 13 th to 15 th to inform about the most different facets of advertising. According to information of Messe Stuttgart, 11,983 visitors from all over Europe only came to visit the TV trade fair in hall 4 and Oskar Lapp hall 6 to discover the new products and innovations in the field of textile decoration. Exhibitors from 24 countries were happy about the professional visitor s great intentions to invest and spread euphoria and enthusiasm among the exhibitors because of the high number of sales. The good economic forecasts for 2014 supported the success of this fair that exceeded all expectations. TV TecStyle Visions is becoming ever more international and keeps gaining more importance for the industry. 250 exhibitors, 98 of them from foreign countries, presented their product innovations and new products from the areas of textile printing, corporate fashion, embroidery, flock, transfer printing, digital textile printing, laser and other decoration technologies. The previous event in 2012 attracted 209 exhibitors, 62 of them from foreign countries. The number of international visitors has also increased: while 13 percent of foreign visitors came to see the trade fair in 2012, it was 16% this year. According to results of a visitor survey, visitors travelled to Stuttgart from over 40 different countries. Top countries after Germany are Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Italy and the Czech Republic. As far as the visitor s interests are concerned, embroidery and transfer printing are both ranking in top position with 48 percent, followed by advertising textiles (43 percent), screen printing (40 percent) and digital printing (38 percent). 51 percent of the visitors feel that the importance of the industry s trade fair keeps increasing. 40 percent said that they are only visiting the TV trade fair to inform about textile decoration and promotion and that they are not going to any other fair. These results underscore the unique selling proposition of the TV TecStyle Visions, which is exactly tailored to the needs and demands of both visitors and exhibitors. Since its foundation, we are involving exhibitors in the organization in form of the TV trade fair advisory board and we owe the constant success of TV TecStyle Visions to the exhibitor s support and cooperation, said Roland Gruber, trade fair founder and general manager of gmk Veranstaltungsservice GmbH. 81 percent of visitors said that they want to come back for TV 2016 and 91 percent would recommend the trade fair. The quality of visitors is still very good: 92 percent are involved in purchase and buying decisions in companies and the high investment intentions reflect in the visitor survey. Thus, 90 percent of decision-makers have concrete purchase and investment intentions. 67 percent of those visitors intend to invest within the next six months. Supporting programme still very sought after The highlights of the traditionally extensive supporting programme were received with great interest. About 15 percent of visitors were interested in the daily fashion shows and the Laser Discovery Tour. Textile labels such as Hakro, Promodoro, Anvil and Gildan has presented their new products at the fashion shows, where it became obvious that light and partially also screaming colours define the market.

2 The Laser Discovery Tour guided trade fair visitors well-directed to exhibitors who were presenting solutions on cutting, engraving or positioning by means of laser technologies and interested parties learned what needs to be observed when working with laser systems and which systems come into consideration for which demands. With the Laser path, the organisers of the trade fair once more met the spirit of time as Nima Yusufi, project manager for the trade fair, emphasized: The,Laser Discovery Tour seemed to come exactly at the right time for many visitors. As the currently published TVP market survey shows, laser technologies are gaining more and more importance on the textile decoration market. And many decorators intend to invest into new laser systems. In Stuttgart, the print shops had the one-time opportunity to inform about the processes in detail. Exhibitors such as Z-Laser Optoelektronik, Seit Elettronica with the German distributor Mountek, Gunold as representative of the English manufacturer CadCam, AS system, cameo Laser, Trotec Laser and CTC Stickmaschinen were part of the Laser Discovery Tour. 14 percent of TV visitors were, according to the results of the visitor survey, inspired by the submissions to the competition for the Golden Shirt Award. 180 parties participated in seminars of the expert forum on the practice of textile finishing. Other crowd pullers were Style at Work, that picked the aspect of individualised workwear and corporate fashion as a central theme, the screen printing forum Charlie s Corner with screen printing expert Charlie Taublieb and the TVP info point fair eco bio. Visitors of the trade fair had the opportunity here for the first time to comprehensively deal with issues all around fair trade, sustainable products and ecological production processes in the field of promotional textiles. Date for 2016 is already fixed All in all, visitors rated TV 2014 with an overall grade of 1.8. On the whole, visitors were highly content with the trade fair. The next TV TecStyle Visions takes place from February 4 th to 6 th 2016 in Stuttgart. 72 exhibitors have already registered for that to date. Trade show quartet EXPO 4.0 creates beneficial synergies Since 2012, EXPO 4.0 brings four trade fairs together under one roof that are all dealing with visual and haptic communication. This year, there are 495 exhibitors presenting their products while it was 404 only two years ago. The enormous growth particularly resulted from a strong internationalisation of TV TecStyle Visions, the number of international exhibitors has increased from 209 in 2012 to now 250 and from the premiere of the GiveADays, which started at the same time with 97 exhibitors and took place instead of POS, which paused that year. 148 exhibitors (144 in 2012) used the advertising and signage trade fair wetec and the DS Tec for their presentations. While all four shows remain independent platforms for different target groups e.g. TV TecStyle Visions for textile finishers, wetec for advertising technology, digital printing and light advertising, DS Tec for experts in the field of digital advertising and information systems and GiveADays for promotional products. However, synergies are huge as we were not only told by many exhibitors but as it was also confirmed by the figures of the visitor survey. According to information of Messe Stuttgart, a total of 14,681 professional visitors attended this year s EXPO 4.0 in Stuttgart compared to 13,966 two years ago. 11,983 visitors came to TV TecStyle Visions in Stuttgart compared to 10,266 in a plus of 17 percent. 8,136 of all EXPO visitors headed for wetec, 4,526 experts visited DS Tec, which took place in hall 8 together with wetec. A total of 5,800 guests were interested in the opening event of GiveADays, the trade show for promotional products. A great percentage of visitors of each individual trade show said that they were also interested in the other shows and took the opportunity to take a look beyond their own noses. As a result, 38 percent of visitors of the TV TecStyle Visions said that they also visited the GiveADays. Visitors of EXPO 4.0 thus have the chance to link with other industries and to take home new ideas a development that was also welcomed by exhibitors. 4 Exhibitor opinions on TV TecStyle Visions 2014 The TV TecStyle Visions was a complete success! For us, it has turned out to be one of the most important trade fairs of the industry and the rising number of visitors is proof for that as well. The new Stedman collections Stars and Active were more than positively accepted by the mainly professional visitors. Our Valentine s Day promotion with sweet Stedman loves you gingerbread hearts put a smile on the visitors faces. We are very satisfied with the result of this trade fair. And the previous events always went well for us. The precise analysis of the leads is yet to follow, but we can already say that the number of contacts was above average. Maybe the percentage of existing customers was higher than the percentage of new customers but that is irrelevant for us as our products such as yarns, fleeces, foils, etc. are consumables, which means that we have to rely on the follow-up sales of our existing customers. There were also many visitors from neighbouring countries more than in the previous years, we think. The visitors were very interested and the discussions quite intense. People specifically asked for solutions related to embroidery and punching or they wanted to find out about new innovations. Our highly motivated sales team is now doing the follow-up work and we would like to thank Messe Stuttgart and gmk Veranstaltungsservice GmbH for organising and implementing the TV TecStyle Vision 2014 so well. We even have specific order inquiries. Organisation was good and the trade fair team Stuttgart was very nice and friendly. And once you have the machines then textiles and caps also have to be obtained sooner or later. The GiveADays had a good start in my opinion and I would like to see even more exhibitors participating in Maybe the vent could be moved closer to the three other trade fairs. Contrary to expectations, Thursday was the strongest day and around lunchtime I even thought that we could have done with one or two people more at the stand. Friday was almost as strong, but felt a bit quieter. The quality on Saturday was very good. This time, the excursion day was actually used as a working day. All in all, a great trade fair.
