4 Alhambra Oleana er stolte av å kunne si at vi både strikker og syr alt vi produserer i Norge. Vår designer, Solveig Hisdal, står bak alle Oleanas mønstre. This year s inspiration Høst/vinter kolleksjonen som du ser presentert i denne katalogen har hennes karakteristiske signatur. In Norwegian folk art we can find traces of the Silk Route, that great cultural flood of silk, dyes, the loom, fine ceramics, patterns, ornaments and techniques, spices and more the long way from China to Europe. It was all brought on the backs of camels and mules, over mountains, and across deserts to the coast of the Mediterranean. There, the Moors brought it by ship to, among other places, South-East Spain, where they ruled for 700 years. Oleana er godkjent som Économusée. OLEANA traveled to the fairytale citadel Alhambra and into the museum. One of the few textile treasures is hidden there; quite small and pale, behind lock and key and glass, but with a pattern, which is the starting point for Oleana s colourful Alhambra cardigan. It has travelled the long way from inspiration, re-drawing, programming, testing of cut and to the finished cardigan. 6 The inspirational Fall/Winter Collection, designed by Solveig Hisdal, has all the colourful, historic and floral elements that is her personal signature. We are proud to say that all our products are knitted and sewn in Norway. Oleana is certified as an Économusée. This means we are a member of an international network of enterprises producing traditional and contemporary products with age old techniques that are open to the public. Here in our restored historic buildings by the fjord in Ytre Arna, birth place of the West Coast textile industry in 1846, you can see something exquisite created before your very eyes. 9 OLEANA YEARS! Our biggest dream was to prove that it could be possible to produce beautiful clothing in a high cost country like Norway. We wanted to make an effort, investing in the very best designs and sustainable qualities. We wanted to create new jobs and a safe and good working environment where people could be happy and develop personally. We had so many ideas and dreams we wanted to realize. 25 years later, we are proudly presenting the fall news to customers all around the world, created by Oleana s own designer, Solveig Hisdal.
