2 Men s The Male Grooming category has increased considerably over the past few years and continues to grow. Why? Because skin care is no longer just for women; today s society focuses on looks and first impressions certainly count. It is a well-known fact that tall, good looking and well groomed men are perceived to be more successful than short, dishevelled versions. Although the male skin care market is constantly evolving, men s skin care was not so different in ancient times. Egyptian men anointed their bodies and wore black make-up around their eyes. Roman men regularly bathed in the Roman Baths and even used razors - the first razor made from sharpened stones and shells has been dated as far back as 1000 BC. The term metrosexual has now been coined to describe men who openly pay for beauty treatments such as waxing, depilation and face peels as well as using some colour cosmetics to hide skin imperfections.
