A well-defined target market is the first element to a marketing strategy. The target market and the marketing mix variables of product, place (distribution), promotion and price are the two elements of a marketing mix strategy that determine the success of a product in the marketplace. The target market for my product is in the cosmetics region. My fragrance is trying to hit a target age of 13 to 37 years old. I m targeting too work with the manufacturer of Joop and hoping to sell the fragrance in boots. The Davidoff cool water and the Davidoff wave is a unisex fragrance by Davidoff. The cool water bottle is in rectangular shape as the wave is in a cone shape. Colours vary from a silky blue to a dark and light blue. Both have clip on and off caps. The logo is stamped onto the bottles, there are two sizes of the bottles 100ml and 125ml. The joop bottles are a unisex fragrance as well. The shapes of the bottles are different with joop etu de toilette has a rectangular as joop jette is in the shape of a heart. There are two different sizes of the bottles 25ml and 50ml. I have come up with a few possible ideas of famous brands that sell unisex fragrances & products. These are the logo & names for the brands. WHAT I HAVE TO DESIGN? 1. Design a logo for the fragrance, should include colour scheme, a name and think of brands. 2. To design the shape of the bottle. This could be a model, spay painted to look like glass or made from plastic. 3. Display stand to promote it. Offers testers size location and recesses. 4. A free gift or give away to promote new product. I am going to design a new unisex fragrance for Joop. It will be aimed at teenagers to young adults between the ages of years old. This age range is part of the Demographic segment of the market who are working & have disposable income to spend on a new fragrance. My fragrance will be sold under the Joop brand name & will the Joop logo. The product I am going to design we need the following: A name of the fragrance & a logo to go with the joop brand logo. The product must have the manufactures details on it. Could have a key ring with fragrance bottle and name 1 side and on the back manufactures details. Could have a t-shirt with fragrance name with brand name and logo.

5 1 st Dec th Dec minutes 3hrs30mins This page contains my logo, name and bottle idea. It shows the design of both my logo and bottle. Plus it shows how I want them to look. The page below is some more idea s of logo s, bottle design and possible stand idea s. Both of these pages have labels to show key features of the designs. This page shows my display stand, it also is labelled with main features and show a flat surface view. This page contains my promotional item idea s. it shows the packaging with front and back views, including details. Plus has two key rings idea s as a free gift to help promote the product.

It also has my packaging front & back view, plus a 2d & 3d version of my Keyring. I think this is the best idea of mine because its new and defiantly eye catching.

He likes how the lid comes off at a midpoint of the bolt. He thinks that the bottle would stand out more if it was a dark blue or black like the sky with a lightning bolt going down the shape.

This page has my bottle design with labelled key features plus it has my name & logo for the fragrance. This other page has my display stand on it with a view on how it would look in a shop. It also has my packaging front & back view, plus a 2d & 3d version of my Keyring. I think this is the best idea of mine because its new and defiantly eye catching. I like this one because it stands out and it s a cool design. Plus this design meets my specifications. Matthew Jones says yes Matthew thinks that the idea is good. Dale James says yes Dale thinks that this is a very good idea, he really likes how I ve linked the keying to the bottle with a lightning bolt theme. Likes how the name stands out & how I have linked the name with my logo design. He thinks that the stand could use brighter colour. I agree with most of the boys points, especially with the colour schemes. I think I will add brighter colours to the display stand & think about the bottle colour change as I don t want to change my original idea too much. After confirming with my partners I have decided to have my stand all in blue. My bottle will be made with clear plastic and a thin yellow shape on the outside and a thing blue one in the middle. The key ring is a thin lightning bolt that s got flash in graved on it all in blue.

7 13 th Jan th Jan hour 5hrs30 mins Above is the bottle I have one the right way and another back to front so when they are cut out I will stick them together so the writing is the same way on both sides. The bottle will be in clear plastic and the lid will be cut out and put on separate. The separate pieces of writing are parts to be cut out and stuck on later. This is the stand that s all separate. The part on the left is the back and underneath it is a piece that goes at the bottom front. And the pieces on the left are to be stuck together, the bottom piece goes onto the back of the stand and the part with the writing goes on top of that again.

I used the snake chain and split ring which we ordered.

Plus it will have a snake chain and split ring to it. The bottle has the brand name and the name of the fragrance on it. Also the bottle in a lightning shape style. I used the snake chain and split ring which we ordered. And used plastic for the lightning bolt shape. I used a thick clear plastic to make the bottle with a thin blue acrylic and yellow to put on the edges and 1 in the middle. Display Stand The display stand needs to be appealing to the target group. The stand needs to hold the bottle and have the brand name and the fragrance name. The materials I used were both blue and yellow acrylic with small mirror sections on the front of the stand.

9 24 th Jan th Jan hr30mins 8hrs30mins The best way to construct my bottle is too cut two copies of the bottle on the original plastic the add thin frame of colour plastic to it. This is an enlargement of my key ring this is the shape I am using to cut out the key ring. The line on the top left is where the lid is on my bottle and the hole for the snake chain to be attached to the main part of the key ring. In the picture above is the page I produced on 2D Design. This is the style of my bottle which is running down the middle of the page, the stand is down the left and right of the page and the key ring is down the bottom right of the page. In the bottom left of the page is the mirror sections I needed to cut and stick on the stand. The writing of flash, Joop and the exclamation mark to be put on the bottle later on.

My key ring is the same shape of my bottle with the words on it but instead of a clear plastic it s the blue acrylic.

15 1 hour 13 hours I first drew my design up on 2d design to get the measurements. Tested it using card. Then after it was all cut out I stuck it all together I then got the sheets of acrylic and polar frosted plastic ready for the laser cutter Then moved on to cut my design out. After all was stuck together bottle made and the key rings complete, my product looked like the picture above.

16 I have completed the specification, to create an aftershave bottle, stand and logo. I have followed the brief and matched it to my specification to make my product correctly and perfectly. I have looked at other brands and how their designs could improve mine and give me a basic product idea to look at and improve. I used up my time to create my product in different periods of time. First of all when I made my card model I found it was too small.. The next problem I had was when cutting out acrylic it was different than the card model because you cannot bend the acrylic as well as the card so I decided to have two exact pieces to stick to one another. Then when cutting out the acrylic there is a cover on the acrylic when you get it. I left this on which prevents the acrylic from burning when being laser cut. When filing it also protects the acrylic from being scratched on sides you don t want filed.
