Kopara are ecosystems constituted of laminated layers produced by microorganisms that grow through colorful vertical gradients according to their needs in oxygen, sulphide, and light. Kopara are mainly constituted of pure microorganisms, free of other organic deposits. To protect themselves from UV, ph & salinity variations, Kopara produce exopolysaccharides (EPS) as a protective shield. 3 EXO-H HYDRATION Exo-H restores hyaluronic acid secretion in aged skin cells, stimulates lipid synthesis, supports the dermo-epidermal junction and induces filaggrin expression in the skin. Exo-H helps maintain an optimal skin barrier function and has excellent hydrating properties due to its action on natural moisturizing factors and lipids synthesis. IN VITRO EFFICACY Hyaluronic acid (HA) acts as a hydrating agent and is involved in the structure and organization of the extracellular matrix (ECM). HA decreases with aging. Stratum corneum (SC) lipids provide a semi-permeable barrier and represent one of the main mechanism allowing SC to hold onto water. Exo-H stimulates skin hydration for a young and healthy looking skin. By inducing lipid synthesis, Exo-H has a positive impact on the skin barrier function. EX VIVO EFFICACY Filaggrin is abundant in the outermost layers of the skin. In the stratum corneum (SC), filaggrin is further degraded by proteases and the resulting amino acids are chemically modified to produce a mixture of hygroscopic compounds (a source of natural moisturizing factors) that are believed to be crucial to normal skin hydration. Application of Exo-H for 3h at the surface of skin explants immediately after delipidation not only preserves filaggrin expression at the SC but even leads to substantial increased expression of the protein compared to control and placebo. 4 EXO-T TEXTURE Exo-T has demonstrated a higher activity than retinoic acid in the stimulation of the desquamation markers. Exo-T is apotent inducer of differentiation markers; it protects the collagen network and thus contributing to skin regeneration. Exo-T improves skin smoothness leading to an even skin complexion. IN VITRO EFFICACY Skin texture is tightly linked to hydration but also depends on a proper balance between cell renewal and desquamation. Proteolytic enzymes such as kallikreins are involved in skin desquamation. The process is required for shedding of old cells at the skin surface and is essential for the continuous regeneration of the skin. Involucrin and filaggrin are markers of cell differentiation and both proteins are expressed in the outermost layers of the epidermis. Increased expression of involucrin and filaggrin has been associated with accelerated recovery after skin barrier disruption. Start the mixer and stir until mixture is homogeneous then begin to heat. Add Butylene Glycol while stirring. In a separate tank, prepare the pre-mixture (Phenonip + Croderol). Add this pre-mixture to the main tank and heat up to 75 C. In a separate tank, add the pre-mixture (Cutina + Lanette + Arlacel + Bernel + Dermowax + Tween 60 + Shea Butter and SF ) while stirring and heating up to 75 C. Add the oil phase into the main tank and stir moderately. Cool down to 40 C and add Triethanolamine 99. Continue to stir and heat up to 30 C to obtain a smooth texture. Add Parfum No In a separate tank, prepare the pre-mixture (Exo-H TM + Exo-T TM ) and adjust ph using Triethanolamine 99. The Pre-mixture ph must be equal or slightly over the ph of the main mixture.
