Choice of destinations and distances. Possibilities are Finchingfield in Essex (lots of twisty roads involved) Ely, Newmarket, Bury St dmunds. A stop for cream tea will be included in the experience. This will be limited to persons of a smaller stature (and head size as my wife's helmet is quite small). If it reassures prospective purchasers of this promise, I am a full member of the IAM, Cambridge Advanced Motorcyclists and am a very sensible and safe rider and will try not to scare them rigid (Donald will have the safety helmet with him at the Auction) (Donald Thompson) CPS 3 Violin Lesson; any age and any standard. If this was to be held at my own house I could have a maximum of six people, but if anyone could provide a larger room such as a hall or similar, I could take up to 18. Batik is the Indonesian art of creating a design on cloth with hot wax and fabric paints. Each participant would leave with a finished, mounted circular painting, and be given full tuition including the correct safety procedure. Absolutely no experience is needed and I have 15 years' experience in teaching the technique. I will provide all the equipment. (Jane Bower)

At the CU Real Tennis Club in Grange Road. Court fees and professional coaching both included. The punt will take the usual number of people and of course, you could picnic on the way. 4 CPS 22 A flight, courtesy of Marshall Aerospace, for three people in either Marshall's twin-engine Piper Aztec or one of the Cambridge Aero Club's Cessna 172 planes. No time limit on the date, just agree a convenient date which is subject to good weather on the day. (Obtained by Lindy - voucher available) CPS 23 An opportunity for the highest bidder to take four or five friends to see the roof of King s College Chapel. They will be able to look down on top of the fan vaulting, as well as going outside on the outer roof and see some fine views of Cambridge. (Oliver Brett) CPS 24 Loan of a tandem for one week. The tandem is a Thorn childback with an 18" front and a 12" rear. This means that it would fit anyone from 5' (ish) up to 6' in the front and aged 6-60 yrs at the back. I have ridden this at the back as well, so it will take up to 5' 11" (although over 5' may find it a little tight fit). It is in good working condition and has mudguards, rack etc. It's purple! For shorter rear riders (children) I can fit some 'crank shorteners' which mean they don't have to push a full length crank round. Crank shorteners are essential for young children. The successful bidder can decide when they want to use their week. They will also have to collect it from Rampton. 6 Auction terms and conditions 'Promise' description cards with full contact details, will be displayed on a board beside the Auctioneers at the event. These cards will be passed to each successful bidder at the end of the auction, or in the case of a successful 'commission bid' by hand or post after the event. If you will not be present at the Garden Party but wish to make a bid for any of the 'Promises' listed in this catalogue, please contact Sue on susanchallans@aol.com or telephone with the catalogue reference number and 'Promise' description, your maximum bid to be offered and your full contact details. It will be the responsibility of the successful 'bidder' to contact the person or persons who have made the promise, to make the necessary arrangements for the promise to be carried out. The Auction will be conducted by Susan and Sarah, and in the event of any noisy disputes, (especially in the Tenor or Brass sections) fights between choir and orchestra members, fisticuffs between challenging bidders etc etc etc, their decision will be final!
