We will continue our Still We Rise women s writing workshop series with instructor Kelly Grace Thomas with single workshops 7/21, 8/18 and 9/16. In October we will begin a new Still We Rise Writing series with writing instructor Dorothy Randall Gray who recently received Department of Cultural Affairs designation as LA Poet-in-Residence. Steven Reigns will begin his 14th year of providing the My Life is Poetry workshop series at the end of July. Steven s workshop is not to be missed and is for any level writing skill. We are looking for an Opera Enthusiast to take over our Opera Club at the Village. Contact Activities Staff if you are interested in using your passion for opera in our program. The heat of summer is upon us all. And with that comes excessive heat warnings, dehydration, and possible falls. I would encourage everyone, if you feel you need to go out, to come to the Village, which provides cooling for all our participants during the heat. Because of parking challenges, you could consider using a ride share with other participants, such as Uber/Lyft, or taking public transportation to get to us. If you find barriers to getting here, get in touch with one of our case managers who can assist you with identifying transportation options. Looking forward to seeing you all this summer! Sincerely, Kiera Pollock, M.S.W., Director of Senior Services JOIN US this month for Pageant of the Masters! See details on page 9.
