Main Demo Stage - Leys Square 14:00 Imajica Theatre The Wynd Saira Hamilton Saturday 26 May 11am to 11.45am & 2:45pm to 3:30pm Saira is a chef, food presenter and author, best remembered as a finalist in MasterChef Finishing in 4th place, Sarah won high praise from judges for her beautifully presented, Bengali-inspired food. Her experience on MasterChef inspired Saira to leave behind her career in law enforcement to pursue her dream of a new vocation. Today, Saira enjoys cooking for private clients across the UK, hosting supper clubs and running numerous cookery masterclasses. Her passion for good food and her easy-to-follow recipes are evident in her 2016 book Kitchen Favourites with Saira: Chilli, Ginger and Garlic, designed for home cooking and contains simple, no-nonsense recipes packed with flavour. WHAT S ON? Chilli Olly Sunday 27 May 10:00am to 10:45am Cheeky, hot-headed and confident are just some of the words used to describe Olly, but as an experienced chef, these are the qualities that have put him on the map. Known in the chilli industry as Chilli Olly, Olly works with various companies across the UK, designing new sauce concepts and brands, giving tours at the Chilli Ranch, launching new products, providing chef consultancy for up-and-coming venues or giving cooking demos on the UK s fast-growing Chilli Festivals scene. Olly s knowledge, passion for flavour and cheeky character will leave you feeling excited. Whether you are a chillihead or just starting on your chilli adventure, you will be hard pushed to find a more inspiring chef!

4 With almost three decades of work experience in magazine publishing, sales training and local government, Emma decided to change paths by opening a bakery and cake/gift shop on The Wynd in Letchworth Garden City. Since starting to bake for charity around five years ago, Emma has won six international food photography awards and numerous baking prizes sponsored by major firms such as Dr Oetker and Roddas Cream. Her shop has recently celebrated its first birthday, making over 1000 cakes and around 10,000 cupcakes in the first 12 months alone, all by hand and all by Emma! Vegan Deliciousness (Sat 26 May) Emma will demonstrate how to make a simple but delicious vegan cake, using easy-to find-ingredients. This cake is suitable for vegans and also for those who suffer from egg and dairy allergies. The session is sponsored by Fairhaven Wholefoods Ltd, Jubilee Road, Letchworth, who have provided some of the ingredients. Don t forget to bring your cake fork! Emma Al-Hudairi Saturday 26 May 1.30pm pm Sunday 27 May 12.30pm 1.15pm New to Nozzles? (Sun 27 May) This session will start off with a demonstration of how to make a basic buttercream. After a brief discussion, Emma will bring her favourite piping nozzles down for you to try! Designed for beginners who would like to get a quick hands-on feel for simple buttercream piping. Bring some wet wipes - it could get messy! Imajica Theatre Company presents: Don t Worry...Bee Happy - saving the Honey Bees! Saturday 26 May 12pm & 2pm Sunday 27 May 12pm & 2pm The Wynd An Enchanting Tale of the Honey Bee and their important role in our eco system. Learn all about the honey bees, how and why they make honey and how important it is that we plant more bee-friendly herbs and flowers in our gardens before it s too late! Wynd & Dined Saturday 26 May 10am - 4pm Sunday 27 May 10am - 4pm The Wynd With three independent food & drink businesses on The Wynd each creating their own products from scratch and on-site, the Letchworth Food and Drink Festival is an important and exciting event for The Wynd businesses to be supporting. On offer will be taster sessions, an outside bar, food stage appearances and lots of other exciting activities as well as foodrelated offerings including vegan and gluten-free options for the whole family. Also, if you fancy a rest from food and drink, head to The Wynd Gallery. Artists will be demonstrating collage, carving, ceramics and painting. Follow The Wynd s preparations at: Anne Harnan Saturday 26 May 12.15am to 1pm Sunday 27 May 11.15am to 12pm Anne Harnan is an accomplished food writer who has worked alongside many well-known chefs on TV, in magazines and for their cookery books. Her latest recipes can be seen in Eat Better Live Longer, written in collaboration with Dr Sarah Brewer and nutritionist Juliette Kellow. Anne has taught at Novelli s Cookery School and runs food theatres at festivals and events around the country. She loves to champion local food producers and, as a practical cook, is keen to get the younger generation into cooking and eating healthily. WHAT S ON?
