3 After-market Inks After-market Inks I always thought of China as a country of much mysticism, magic and tradition, where despite being a country with a lot of technology the traditions are always current, sharing cultural spaces complementing each other and never competing against each. This year I had the opportunity to travel to China again and this time I could not miss the opportunity to visit an art museum. There is something that hypnotizes me about the art of painting and writing with Chinese ink. The simple but precise strokes combined with the skill of the artist manage to achieve an unmatched style. Commonly its attributed to the China the invention of the ink, they manufacture ink 2500 years before Christ. Currently there are a lot of types of ink for different purposes and types of printing. FLAAR REPORTS is dedicated just to the review of ink for wide format digital printers, so we do not cover other types of printing. But although being focused just on digital printing, we are completely available to evaluate other types of ink for alternative printing styles by request. APPPEXPO is one of the biggest trade shows in Asia, so it is no surprise that year after year a lot of inkjet ink companies exhibit at this expo. It is important to ask before buying ink for what specific print head it is compatible, since there is a wide range of print head brands at the wide format printing market, and not every ink is compatible with all kinds of print heads. Ink quality can be tested in several ways, but we also need to compare the product with all the competitors out on the market. Please realize that until we visit a factory and get to know end-users who use the ink, we do not give evaluations or recommendations. We can only provide a list. Once we can visit a factory and get to know a specific brand, then we can provide review evaluations and recommendations.

9 Limei Jetink Another reason why you can t just say OEM ink is automatically better than after-market ink is because most OEM ink is made by the same companies who also make after-market ink! Hardly any printer factories have their own ink factory; the printer factories are buying ink on the open market. Obviously they are providing the ink factory with the specs of what kind of ink they prefer. But, there are plenty of capable ink companies with years of experience making good ink. Besides, if your outside banners of billboards only need to be used during a trade show, you don t need even 10 months of outside longevity.
