1 Catch the tram and win! JUNE #emergeinyarra
2 Welcome Emerge in Yarra presents a new week-long program for its 12th anniversary with a multitude of free arts workshops, language and cooking classes in addition to live music and theatre performances that showcase the diverse talent that exist in the City of Yarra. Founded in 2004 as a platform for the emerging and refugee artists in Multicultural Arts Victoria s Visible Music Mentoring Program, the festival has since grown to encompass talented emerging and refugee artists from across the city whilst also paying respect to Indigenous Australians as the first people of this land and recognising their continuing spiritual, physical and cultural connection to the land. The festival is timed to coincide with the United Nations World Refugee Day and Refugee Week and celebrates the ever-expanding contributions artists from all sectors of our diverse society have made in building Melbourne s unique cultural landscape and the Creative industry in Victoria. Emerge in Yarra has also been the stimulus and springboard for contemporary cultural activity in outer metro and regional Victoria embracing and unearthing the talents of emerging and refugee artists. Catch a tram and win! Post a photo from your tram ride and tell us which Emerge in Yarra festival event you d like to go to with hashtag #emergeinyarra to win one of 10 limited edition sets of our Black Harmonies and Best of Visible CDs featuring diverse talented artists from Indigenous and refugee backgrounds. Post before 14 June to be in the running to win! 3
