2 COMPETITION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE FESTIVAL OF RUSSIAN FASHION 8th EDITION The Contest is sponsored by. The aim of the competition is to promote the internationalization of Russian fashion from the heart of Italy s fashion district, in Milan. THE COMPETITION The competition has 6 product categories. Selection of submissions, semi-final and final stages of the contest will take place in three phases, after which a jury of experts will designate the winning entries for each category. Special mentions may also be acknowledged. will offer winners the chance to expose their works in its showroom in Milan. The final stage of the Contest will take place in October PRODUCT CATEGORIES Womenswear [W1]; Menswear [M2]; Kidswear [K3]; Beachwear and Underwear [BU4]; Fur [F5]; Accessories and footwear [AS6]. CANDIDATE ELIGIBILITY AND APPLICATIONS The Contest is open to all citizens of Russian Federation and other former USSR Republics citizens aged over 18 years old. Physical presence from designers is not required at this stage of pre-selection. Società Italia will not ask candidates to pay any registration fee at this stage of pre-selection and the applications are not binding for.!!2

3 To participate in the contest, applications must be submitted until July 31, 2017, on the contest s official web-site. All submitters should attach to the application form a look book containing photographs of already produced collections. Any application that does not meet the conditions stipulated by these rules will be rejected. The outcome of this initial assessment will be communicated on the Contest s official website and via mail to submitters. ENTRY FEE For admission to the competition designers will have to pay an entry fee of 300,00 Euros. Aside from the entry fee, under no circumstances should designers pay other fees. SELECTION OF PROJECTS Pre-selected designers will be asked to provide upon request in due course: A) 6 proposals (sketches) of as many unreleased garments (size: 21 x 30 cm - A4 size frame), including mood boards and texts to describe the designer s materials, style and choices. Sketches and drawings should also be presented in digital copy in conformity with the original paper. The image resolution required is a minimum of 150dpi; B) a copy of ID card or passport. Required materials must be sent to festivaldellamodarussa@societaitalia.it. All the materials that will be submitted in accordance with the rules will be subsequently reviewed by a team of experts and outside professionals from the fashion sector (Technical Committee) in Milan. The expert panel will pre-select 60 candidates, i.e. 10 candidates for each category.!!3

4 SEMI-FINALS Each pre-selected designer will be required to attend semi-finals for at least two days in October 2017, and present their works to the jury in s showroom in Milan or, in case of impediment, in s showroom in St. Petersburg. Travel and subsistence expenses (including visa services) are at designers charge. Società Italia will provide at no extra cost female and male models and professional Russian- Italian interpreters. The Technical Committee will choose the winning projects on the basis of the works displayed during the semi-finals. The names of the finalists will be announced via e- mail and subsequently announced in a press release. For each product category the panel will vote to decide a maximum of 3 finalists. Hence there will be a total of 18 finalists. FESTIVAL OF RUSSIAN FASHION - 8th EDITION The 18 Contest finalists will have the opportunity to participate at the 8th edition of Festival of Russian Fashion in October. Travel and subsistence expenses (including visa services and costs of transport for designers garments) are at designers charge. During the Festival (two days), will provide designers one female model and/or one male model, along with display spaces in its showroom located at San Babila, in the heart of Milan. The Technical Committee will vote to decide 1 winner for each category. Hence, there will be 6 winners. The Festival of Russian Fashion will also include a press conference with the Italian and international press, interviews with designers, meetings with fashion professionals, companies, showrooms and designers, and a cocktail party. PRIZES Winners will receive a celebratory plaque and will be provided with display areas in s showroom in Milan for two months (November and December 2017) at no extra cost. Designers may be provided with further display areas in important boutiques in Milan.!!4

5 Submitted sketches cannot be returned and will be considered property of Società Italia. Garments will be returned at the end of the event. Selected designers are required to notify in their resume and in other application forms related to other fashion competitions their participation at the Festival of Russian Fashion - 8th edition, sponsored by. Participation at the contest will be admissible provided the applications are duly completed and the supporting documents are inclosed. By taking part in the Contest, designers authorize to use personal information provided with the following applications according to Italian D. Lgs. 196/03. 6 Throughout its previous seven editions, the Festival of Russian Fashion has always aimed at bringing in Milan the best in terms of fashion from Russian Federation, CIS countries, Baltic States, Ukraine and Georgia. The Festival was launched by in 2007 for its showroom in Milan, Via Cerva, in the heart of the Italian fashion district. The event still represents, to this day, one of the first and most acclaimed exhibition in Italy seeking to offer the most important players of Italian fashion a complete overview of the huge Russian and Eurasian fashion markets. During its history,, along with an exclusive team of experts, has since organized this event with passion and faith in former USSR designers abilities, constantly seeking to develop a constructive dialogue between Italy and Eastern Europe s cultures.!!6

7 The objective of the Festival is to offer all participating designers the opportunity to get in touch with Italian buyers and distributors, and, by doing so, to create new forms of collaboration for Russian brands on the European market starting from the capital of international prêt-à-porter, Milan. Over 50 designers have joined our contest since the moment it was created ten years ago. Most of them succeeded in earning themselves a place of honour not only in Italian fashion catwalks, but also on international fashion shows. The list of high-profile designers who walked the threshold of our showroom includes: Arsenicum, Alena Akhmadullina, Ksenia Shnaider, Pirosmani, Leonid Alexseev, Masha Tsigal, Igor Guyalev, Natalia Soldatova, Tatiana Kotegova, Ianis Chamalidi and Bella Potemkina. Moreover, the last edition of Festival of Russian Fashion was honored with the prestigious patronage of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, Sistema Moda Italia - Federazione Tessile e Moda italiana, and Soyuzlegprom, the Union of Entrepreneurs of Textile and Light Industry of Russian Federation.
