2 alison cahill: career details Self Employed Graphic Designer London and Southeast Asia March Present Combining graphic design with travel, volunteer work and photography, I have participated in various volunteer projects in animal conservation throughout Southeast Asia with the aim to utilise my design skills to promote the rescue centres and to build educational awareness for local people. My role involved developing designs and templates for quarterly newsletters and e-newsletters, annual reports, educational signage and the reviewing of in-house communications such as volunteer information packages and enrichment manuals. Providing a full graphic design service from brief to finished product I have the knowledge and skill to produce designs for magazine, promotional design, literature, advertising, corporate identity, marketing campaigns, logo and website design. Clients included: Canggu Stay, Free The Bears, Jamm Design Ltd., Oink Creative Ltd. and Tasikoki Wildlife Rescue Centre. Solo Photography Exhibition, Hong Kong May 2013 Impressions, held in Culture Club Gallery and Cafe This exhibition was a collection of my portrait photography through Southeast Asia. The Whole Hog, London August March 2010 Senior Designer I worked predominantly in the music, film and publishing industries. My role involved design, art direction and project management from initial concept to final production of CD covers, DVD on-screen graphics, film posters, catalogues, multimedia/web design and all related advertising campaigns. This included working at a senior level with the creative director on project development and implementation, managing junior/middleweight designers and artworkers, coordinating suppliers and assisting in the efficient running of the studio. Clients included: BBC, Demon Music, Impossible Films, Jazz FM, Jaswa Foods Ltd., Momentum Pictures, Paramount, Sony, Twen tieth Century Fox, Universal Music, Universal Pictures, Universal Music Japan and ZTT Records. Freelance Designer, London July August 2000 I worked on a wide range of projects from art direction for a packaging consultancy to conceptual design and artwork for the retail industry, producing instore graphics, packaging and fashion labelling as well as corporate literature, brochures and music related projects. Clients included: BT Syncordia Solutions, Debenhams, Harrods, House Of Fraser, Islington Arts Factory and The Design Clinic. BT Batsford Ltd, London June December 1996 Senior Designer I was originally employed within this specialist publishing house as a middleweight designer in June 1995, and was subsequently promoted to senior designer in May The role involved concept, design and layout for books, jackets and promotional material along with studio management, including the coordination of designers and the maintenance of the design and production schedule for over 30 titles. I also played an instrumental role in the implementation of the new corporate identity for the company.
