Experimentl designs were rndomized omplete loks (RCB) plnted independently on 3 My, 2 June, nd 28 June 217 t oth lotions. Eh respetive plnting dte ws nlyzed s n individul tril. Hemp seed ws plnted using the Mundell Modified Soyen Plot Plnter t rte of 6 ls/a. Seeding depth ws lirted to.25 inh. No dditionl pestiides or irrigtion were used for the durtion of the studies. Stlks were hrvested t or fter ~2% flowering from two, rndomly seleted 1m 2 suplots from within eh min plot, reful to void plot edges using hndheld sikle mower nd ir dried. Plot ends were trimmed efore su plot definition. Dt olleted from stlks were plnt popultions, strw yields mesured s dry weight (DW), stlk heights, nd stlk dimeters t the se. All dt were nlyzed using the ANOVA proedure of SAS 9.4 (SAS Institute, Cry,

2 NC). Mens were seprted y Fisher s Proteted LSD (α=.5) where the min effet of vriety ws signifint. Results The 2 June plnting ws destroyed t Quiksnd due to extreme preipittion very soon fter seeding. Additionl rop filures resulted in either vriety deletions nd/or inomplete dt olletion mong plnting dtes nd t oth lotions. ANOVA sttistis for eh suessful plnting dte t eh lotion re provided in Tle 2. Wether nd photoperiod dt re presented for oth lotions in Appendix 1. Dt re presented in Figures 1 3 for the My, June nd July plntings, respetively. 10 Conlusions In generl, DM yields were lower in these trils thn would e desired. In some ses t oth lotions nd in 2 of the 3 plnting dtes, vrieties filed due to weed pressure whih resulted in un hrvestle rops. Dt from this tril nd the 217 UK dul purpose vriety trils ( indite the severe need for leled heriides in Kentuky nd the U.S. At the Spindletop lotion My plnting dte, whih ws limited in dt reovery due to plnting filure, there were no signifint reltionships etween vriety nd popultion density (Fig. 1A), hrvested strw DW (Fig. 1B), or in stem dimeter (Fig. 1D). There ws signifint reltionship etween vriety nd plnt height (Fig. 1C). At the Quiksnd lotion, ll response vriles demonstrted signifint reltionship with vriety (Figure 1A D). Kenf rnked mong the top performers ompred to hemp vrieties in terms of strw DW, stlk height, nd stem dimeter. Hemp vrieties produing the highest strw DW yields were Asso (whih ws mong the highest plnt densities, nd lowest stem dimeters) nd Ellet Compn (moderte in popultion density, mong the highest stem dimeters). The June plnting ws destroyed t the Quiksnd lotion due to hevy rin immeditely following seeding. Dt ws olleted from ll twelve entries t the Spindletop lotion (Fig. 2), ut yields were reltively low; more like wht would e expeted from dul purpose rop. CHG onsistently rnked mong the highest performers in terms of strw DW yields, height, nd stem dimeter (Fig. 2B D). Other vrieties rnking in the upper tier in terms of strw DW were the Itlin vrieties Asso, Crmgnol, nd Codimone. Kenf lso rnked one of the highest strw yielding while mintining lower popultion density nd stem dimeter (Figure 2B,D) whih re likely fvorle omintions in terms of ommeril proessing ility. The July plnting dte ws lso limited in dt from Quiksnd due to exess weed pressure leving five reovered vrieties while Spindletop olleted dt from nine vrieties (Figure 3). Kenf performed mong the highest in popultion density nd strw DW nd modertely with stlk height nd stlk dimeter t Spindletop; this trend ws not neessrily oserved t the Quiksnd lotion, with Kenf performing modertely mong hemp vrieties (Figure 3B,D). CHG signifintly out yielded ll other vrieties in hrvested strw DW t Quiksnd, while mintining lrge stem dimeters ( 12mm).
