1 PITTI BIMBO N.83 Florence, Fortezza da Basso, June 2016 Pitti Bimbo, The Place to Be for children s fashion and lifestyles The sections, the numbers and what s new With 498 collections (there were 446 at the previous summer edition), 234 of which from abroad (47% of the total), over 5,600 buyers and a total of just under 10,000 visitors at the last summer edition, Pitti Immagine Bimbo is the most important international fashion rendezvous for kids and teenagers. Held from 23 to 25 June 2016 at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, Pitti Bimbo is the only fair in the world that presents a complete overview of the universe of children s fashion and is an extraordinary hothouse for lifestyle trends that has made a focus on research its key element. From the blend of creativity and experimentation of the brands in KidzFIZZ, to the contemporary lifestyle of the collections in Apartment, from the classic-elegance of the big international names to the fashion designers for adults presenting their line for kids. Plus, the eco fair trade labels of EcoEthic, the sportswear of Sport Generation and the urban atmospheres of SuperStreet, all the way to the design accessories for the littlest set. All of this is presented within a constantly evolving geography that greets visitors in a unique atmosphere, with new areas created to offer moments that can be dedicated to doing business as well as moments for enrichment. The Special MiSE and AGENZIA ICE plan supporting Italian trade fairs and Made in Italy Through the Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana, the Pitti Immagine summer fairs, will enjoy financial and promotional support from the Ministry for Economic Development (MiSE Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico) and the Italian Trade Agency (Agenzia ICE). This support from MiSE and ICE, involves incoming services for members of the trade from abroad, communications on new markets, publicity campaigns in other countries and some of the most important events on the Pitti Uomo, Pitti Bimbo and Pitti Filati calendars. PITTI LUCKY NUMBERS, the theme of the summer fairs This coming June, with the theme Pitti Lucky Numbers, Pitti Immagine is betting on numbers: on their aesthetic, graphic and symbolic qualities. No, we will not be looking at numbers as indices of quantity but at the beauty of the signs they make. Right or wrong numbers, exact figures or estimates, we can end up being number one or two or zero! Numbers are always secretly in and around our lives and the Fortezza da Basso will be happily invaded by numbers - even adapted for kids who just love to play with them. The BOF special dedicated to Pitti Bimbo and an award for the best 10 retailers The international reference fair for kids fashion and lifestyles will be presented by BOF The Business of Fashion, the leading digital communications platform for the fashion trade. A special online guide will be dedicated to the childrenswear market, to the latest trends and opportunities, to the major players in manufacturing and retailing. To mark the occasion, on Thursday 23 June, during the opening ceremony of Piti Bimbo 83 (Taste Lounge Lower Level Main Pavilion), Pitti Immagine will give an acknowledgment to the 10 stores that are the ones to watch selected by BOF from among the enterprises that represent the new frontier in distributing children s clothing, accessories and lifestyle items. The project with BOF The Business of Fashion, is part of the Pitti Immagine 2016 Special Fairs Program organized by the Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana and realized thanks to the contribution of the Ministry for Economic Development and the ICE Agency.

2 Here are some of the highlights of this edition: _ Edgardo Osorio, Founder & Creative Director of Aquazzura, chooses Pitti Bimbo to launch his first children s collection, Aquazzura Mini. The first Spring/Summer 2017 collection represents the essence of Aquazzura, which evokes a sense of playful imagination through color and unique textures. _ Giuseppe Junior presents the essence of the Zanotti style with the debut of its kids collection at the Fortezza; _ a big style return to Pitti Bimbo for the C.W.F group with brands like Little Marc Jacobs and with the launch of the total look for children designed by Zadig & Voltaire; _ the prestigious return to Pitti Bimbo of the Florentine brand Patrizia Pepe; _Minna Parikka, a cutting edge Scandinavian brand, will be attending Pitti Bimbo for the first time bringing its style and spring-summer 2017 collection; _Joshua Sanders launches his first collection for little girls with an exclusive premiere at Pitti Bimbo. _Leitmotiv premieres its collection for kids. RESEARCH and CONTEMPORARY LIFESTYLE inspire two fashion shows After the success of the Apartment catwalk show at the last edition, Pitti Immagine is doubling up and offering two special catwalk show-presentations: Apartment Couture the protagonists will once again be a selection of the sophisticated luxury collections showcased in Apartment, names like Stella Jean, Cape, Pèro, Trottolini, Lamantine Paris & Milan, Miss L.Ray, Piccola Ludo, Velveteen; the second, an absolute innovation for this edition, will offer greater visibility to the projects with a high creative content featured in KidzFIZZ. On the upper level of the Lyceum which has been turned into a space for special events inaugurated last season with the Apartment Couture catwalk shows two shows dedicated to maximizing some of the most interesting Made in Italy companies alongside international names in kidswear. The two catwalk shows are part of the Pitti Immagine 2016 Special Fairs Program organized by the Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana and realized thanks to the contribution of the Ministry for Economic Development and the ICE Agency. (see attached press release) FUN GLASSES, the new Pop Up Store dedicated to eyewear for kids Brand new at Pitti Bimbo, in the Main Pavilion, Fun Glasses is the space dedicated to eyewear for children, produced by Pitti Immagine in cooperation with MIDO the leading international trade fair for the eyewear industry. Fun Glasses will focus on an increasingly technical and key sector linked to design, fashion and the world of color. An area that turns eyewear into a desirable accessory and no longer a problem, and presents the creations of names like Carrera, Kids by Safilo, Miraflex, Polaroid, See Concept, The Simpsons, Tommy Hilfigher and Zoobug. PITTI BIMBO EDITORIALS, two new areas dedicated to creative ideas From this edition Pitti Bimbo welcomes the Editorials: two large walls on the Lower Level of the Main Pavilion that, each season, will host the in-depth analysis of two topics, two spaces to look at, observe and photograph to obtain creative ideas. _ BIKE!BIKE! The bicycle is no longer just a sport, it is a philosophy, a lifestyle, a choice, a way of moving around, a journey. From the smallest detail to macro accessories, the protagonists will be lots of objects for two wheelers from all over the world. The brands present include names like: Bike Belle, Bike Cap, Cicli Bonin, Citta Del Sole, Corraini Edizioni, Crazy Safety, Doiy, Donkey, Early Rider, Fix Your Bike, Giorgiafogliachapeau, Globber, Ippocampo Edizioni, Legami, Marina Fertonani, Nanoo, Rsd Roberto Siena Design, Sigg Distribuito Da Künzi S.P.A., Taga Bike, Tokyobike and Triobike. 2

3 _ KDESIGN i.e. the Kid factor of Design. This is a selection of objects that astound because of their function, their aesthetics, their shape, others because of their uniqueness: a journey into the world of design aimed at the under 10s, but not limited to them. Useful and useless objects, furnishings and furniture accessories that shun banality: for a home that is increasingly a world where the spaces and the needs of adults and kids have merged, all for the sake of style. The brands present: Aneluma By Imballaggi Invernizzi, Anne-Claire Petit Accessoires, Charlie Crane, Coq En Pâte, Design Letters & Friends, Design Mood, Doiy, Donkey, Fudje, Guum Barcelona, Magis - Me Too Collection, Oeuf, Qeeboo By Stefano Giovannoni, Quinny, Rabito and Zzzoolight. The special participation of KARTELL with the new Kartell Kids line On the Lower Level of the Main Pavilion, another protagonist of Pitti Bimbo will be the first Kartell Kids collection: the famous design brand is launching a new line dedicated to the world of kids with furnishings designed for the occasion along with adaptations, in terms of size and color, of some iconic products. The first collection premiered at the Salone del Mobile- Furniture Fair in Milan - includes projects by Nendo, Ferruccio Laviani, Piero Lissoni and Philippe Starck. OFF THE PAGE and into the World of Fashion: kids fashion illustrators wanted Creativity is in the front line at Pitti Bimbo 83 with Off the Page and into the World of Fashion located in the Medici Pavilion. A new project has been launched in collaboration with the prestigious Bologna Children's Book Fair in order to select and propose a team of illustrators that are able to put a new and distinct mark on kids fashion fabrics and collections, creatives capable of establishing an interesting dialogue with the companies. At each edition of the project, a jury of experts is called upon to select the 10 best illustrators from amongst those identified following an international call, which will be presented in April at the Bologna Children s Book Fair and, subsequently, at Pitti Bimbo. From the publishing industry here are the 10 names selected for kids fashion: Camille Almeras (France), Mariachiara Di Giorgio (Italy), Tomoko Inaba (Japan), Adriana Isabel Juárez Puglisi (Spain), Sara Kharaman (Iran), Oskar Laurin (Sweden), Marika Maijala (Finland), Tomo Miura (Japan), Chihiro Takeuchi (Japan) and Chengliang Zhu (China). KIDZFIZZ, Pitti Bimbo s concept laboratory at the Archivi for the very first time KidzFIZZ, the children s fashion project that brings together the most creative collections by brands that experiment with shapes, materials and presentation styles is expanding and getting stronger: it is a proposal dedicated to a more evolved international public. In line with the new kids lifestyle global scenarios, KidzFIZZ is aiming for research, creative exploration, the contamination between fashion and design and the significant presence of accessories. Staged inside the Medici Pavilion and, for the very first time, also in the Archivi a space never used by Pitti Bimbo before - with a layout by Storage Associati, KidzFIZZ is increasingly becoming Pitti Bimbo s concept laboratory. It will also feature a special dedicated catwalk show. Among the new names: Amiki sleepwear, Arsène et les Pipelettes, Bebe Organic, Bonheur du Jour, Bryony and Co., Deux Ans des Vacances, Elyrose, forget me not, le Mu, Little Indians, Little Ones, Longlivethequeen, Louis Louise, Luciole et Petit Pois, Maan, Maghi e maci, Merri Merini, Miss Chips, Ott Cupcakes, Paade Mode, Phi Clothing, Ria Menorca, Roly Pony, Rose & Theo, Simple Kids, Venera Arapu, and Zaz Baby. The unduetrestella DESIGN WEEK project returns to KidzFIZZ At Pitti Bimbo 83, unduetrestella will be presenting a new selection of design objects and projects for the smallest set, exhibited last April during the Fuori Salone 2016, on the occasion of GROW little at the unduetrestella STORE. The participants include: Alicucio, Anitas Peg Dolls, Art è Ragazzi, Bumoon, Collégien, Dodo Toucan, Dondolo, &me, georges, Joolz, 3

4 Ju Inspiration (PL) ju inspiration.com, Laboratoriografico, Lil Gaea, Linea MammaBaby, MT masking Tape, Nidi, Ocarina mp3, Puella Petite, Small-design, Studio delle Alpi and Toc Toc LAB (I). APARTMENT, luxury collections & contemporary lifestyles In June the protagonist will once again be Apartment, the project dedicated to sophisticated contemporary children s fashions and lifestyles: a unique section furnished according to Ilaria Marelli s creative project that contains a sophisticated grouping of international clothing and accessory collections aimed at buyers from the most exclusive boutiques. On the upper level of the Lyceum, a special catwalk show will recreate the atmosphere of an atelier using maison haute couture presentation methods. The new names: Deena London, Joshua Sanders, Minna Parikka, Miss L.Ray, and Raspberry Plum Ltd. KID S EVOLUTION, from fashion for adults to capsule collections for kids Kid s Evolution is the project by Alessandro Enriquez in collaboration with Pitti Immagine aimed at a super-sophisticated audience of buyers, including the world s most important department stores. Pitti Bimbo will be showcasing a selection of designers involved in fashion research for adults who will be trying their hand at a capsule collection for kids. On the Lower Level of the Main Pavilion, a 360 project that has already intercepted the needs of top international retailers that have successfully tested and supported the project, including Luisaviaroma, yoox.com, Harvey Nichols, Coccole, Rinascente Milano. Some of the names present: Iuri, Kyme Jr, LC23, Les Bohémiens, Mitchumm Industries, Nhivuru and San Andrès Bimbi. Fashion Comics: a selection of children s fashion brands will dress Miffy Fashion Comics returns, the project which is the brainchild of Alessandro Enriquez and realized in collaboration with Pitti Bimbo. A selection of children s clothing brands has been called in to dress Miffy, the iconic rabbit created in the Fifties by the famous illustrator Dick Bruna, who has become a character to whom even a small museum has been dedicated in Utrecht. Staged in the Cavaniglia, each brand will produce a look for Miffy who will become the protagonist of a capsule collection of t-shirts produced and marketed with the support of Camac, and of a special edition mini outfit created especially for the occasion. Part of the proceeds from the sales will be donated to an Oxfam project. The project is developed in collaboration with CPLG Italia and Mercis. The brands involved are: Ermanno Scervino, Ice Iceberg, Il Gufo, La Stupenderia, Mimisol, Monnalisa, N.21, Sarabanda and Twin Set Simona Barbieri. The other worlds within the Pitti Bimbo itinerary: The Main Pavilion and the new Pop Up Stores A journey through big brand fashions, new luxury clothing for infants, kids and teens: international level brands which present and contextualize their collections complete with accessories and projects for retailers. And, to broaden the spectrum, the new Pop Up Stores, a sophisticated offering of lifestyle products: jewelry, accessories and furnishing accessories, plus articles expressly dedicated to newborns alongside sophisticated baby & beauty care lines created to be suitable for baby s delicate skin and specific requirements. A rich and innovative selection of colorful and amusing accessories presented according to a new exhibition game. Among the new names: Babykel, Cute Cute, Fabio Borsetto, I Falsi di Nicole Mademoiselle, Lagoa World, Passapò, Pidipi, Vandoma. 4

5 EcoEthic. The Green Generation comes to Pitti Bimbo The star of one of the Pop Up Stores areas in the Main Pavilion, EcoEthic is the section dedicated to green issues: the best brands that make sustainable fashion part of their signature. These companies, from all over the world, use organic and biological materials that are produced with respect for nature and in a chain that protects local manufacturing and small communities while helping to save our planet. Among the new names: Babylonia bvba, Coqenpâte, Infantium Victoria, Pigeon- Organics for kids, and Jooseph s Little Monsters Supply. Sport Generation: even more freedom to play Sport Generation, the planet that hosts the big names in sportswear and activewear, consolidates its expanded spaces and new layout. The companies that choose the Cavaniglia Pavilion and its appendages as their stage are increasingly international. Inside a set which is very lively and created ad hoc, there will also be a selection of prestigious names from Northern Europe who are attending the fair for the first time, aiming to occupy large areas and realize special projects in collaboration with Pitti Immagine. Plus, in order to enrich and broaden the proposals at Sport Generation there is a sophisticated offering of lifestyle products designed for the littlest ones to complete the kids wardrobes in the light of a new 360 concept. Beach wear, bags and travel accessory lines as well as an original selection of school bags and leisure items. Among the new names and reentries: Courage & Kind, Frank Ferry, Gold Rush Outfitters, Hatley, Hippy&Happy, Hust&Claire, J&Joy, Jeune Premier, Kitz and Co., Kidz-Art, Molo, Natural World, Nobell Bellaire, Platypus Australia UV Swimwear, Play&Go, Selini Action, Super Rebel, Svnty, Tumble n Dry, Uvea, Voile Blanche and XTI Kids. The fundamental role of buyers at Pitti Bimbo The participation of the best Italian and international buyers is the key to the fair s commercial success, attesting to the quality of the proposals, its capacity for constant renewal, the clarity of the exhibition concept and the attentive segmentation as well as the commitment to discovering new brands and new talents. The runway shows and events. A fashion week for children only The success of Pitti Bimbo is also due to the important communication events, runway shows and initiatives that accompany each edition. The runway shows, that launch new trends and offer invaluable ideas for styling and combining clothing and accessories, are attracting increasingly bigger audiences. Curated by Archivio (Personale). Among the important rendezvous around town: on Thursday 23 June, the event organized by Monnalisa, which is celebrating the SS 2017 collection with a fashion show at Palazzo Corsini and the special presentation by Salvatore Ferragamo at the Hotel Portait Firenze-Suite Ponte Vecchio. Also on 23 June, we should also mention the boutique presentation by Dolce & Gabbana. The magazine projects at Pitti Bimbo Once again this edition will feature lots of initiatives and special projects by kids fashion magazines in the Fortezza: Il Circo galattico The Galactic Circus by Style Piccoli Style Piccoli, the magazine dedicated to free time, play and fashion for the under 12s, aimed at parents who are looking for information and original suggestions for having the best possible time with their children, presents in the Cavedio area in the Main Pavilion the Circo Galattico-Galactic Circus exhibition, where the concept of number has a dual meaning. On the one hand we have the circus numbers revisited in an original fanta-scientific key by stylist Petra Barkhof. On the other hand there are the numbers used to catalogue the stars mounted in the magical big top, immortalized live by photographer Marco Tassinari. MILK: Mode in France, from Lynch to Peduzzi In the Medici Pavilion, in pages suffused with modernity and freely inspired by the surreal universe of David Lynch and by the contemporary stage designer Richard Peduzzi, MilK will be presenting creative and promising French children s fashion brands. The essential décor with white walls and concrete flooring is dotted with references to the two artists: a television and a telephone for Lynch, curtains and a graphic color palette for Peduzzi. The royal blue symbolizes the intense world of French children s fashion. Kid s Wear Magazine presents The Numbers At the Lyceum, the magazine invites visitors to think creatively, combining high kids fashion with contemporary photography with contributions from the worlds of art, culture and society. The Numbers exhibition presents the work of 11 photographers who play, in their own way, with the theme of Pitti Bimbo 83, i.e. P1tt1 Lucky Numb3r5, whose Leitmotiv is numbers and their aesthetic, graphic and symbolic qualities. With images by: Natalie Bothur, Adrian Crispin, Philippe van Damme, Martin Fengel, Andrea Perez Hita, Alexandra Klever, Achim Lippoth, Debora Mittelstaedt, Harriet Esther Muntean, Daniel Riera and Jonas Unger. And, last but not least, we should draw your attention to the initiatives by Vogue Bambini, Elle Kids and Fashion Magazine. 6
